:salamext:

:ia: let us all keep in my mind that we will die and have to answer to our Lord, Allaah.

There is a fashion of men wearing gold rings on their weddings, especially in asian families. This is NOT ALLOWED in Islam.

Please see evidence below :ia:

Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (RadiAllaahu Anhu) reported;
Allah's Messenger :saws: saw a person wearing a gold signet ring in his hand. He (the Holy Prophet) pulled it off and threw it away, saying: “One of you is wishing live coal from Hell and putting it on his hand.” It was said to the person after Allah's Messenger :saws: had left: “Take your signet ring (of gold) and derive benefit out of it.” Whereupon he said: “No, by Allah, I would never take it when Allah's Messenger :saws: has thrown it away.”
(Sahih Muslim, Book 24, Number 5209)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RadiAllaahu Anhu);
The Prophet :saws: said: “If anyone wants to put a ring of fire on one he loves, let him put a gold ring on him: if anyone wants to put a necklace of fire on one he loves, let him put a gold necklace on him, and if anyone wants to put a bracelet of fire on one he loves let him put a gold bracelet on him. Keep to silver and amuse yourselves with it.”
(Abu-Dawud, Book 34, Hadith 4224)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Prophet :saws: said,
"Men have been forbidden from wearing gold rings."
(Abu Dawud, Number 4044 and At-Tirmidhi, Number 1738)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

May Allaah grant us understanding of the deen and the ability to do what pleases Him, Ameen.

Please remember me in your du'aas :ia:

The Prophet :saws:, however, permitted men to wear silver rings.

On the authority of Ibn'Umar, al-Bukhari reported the former saying, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be on him) wore a silver ring. After him, Abu Bakr and then 'Umar and 'Uthman wore it, until it fell off his finger into the well of Arees." (Reported by al-Bukhari in the chapter on "Clothing" (Al-Libas).)
