استعينوا على قضاء حوائجكم بالكتمان فإن كل ذي نعمة محسود

"Seek help in fulfilling your needs by keeping them secret (and not publicizing your endeavours), for everyone who enjoys blessings is a target of jealousy."
(Tabrani, Mu'jamuz Zawaid)

This Hadith outlines an important guideline for social media usage: don't post all the great holidays you've enjoyed, or the wonderful achievements of your kids (and their photos), or any other bounty that you've been blessed with in the public domain for all and sundry to see and envy.

Rather adopt prudent anonymity and quietly see your blessings grow and your plans bear fruition.
