I am actually confused. Your dad is Muslim? What do you talk about with him to make it Haram?

I am a non-Muslim. It seems all I talk about or do is haram. What should I do do or talk about so we can actually enjoy some halal time. Because whenever we meet, we barely talk or don't talk.

Well, my family is not Muslim and I am Muslim, I talk to them about food, sports, pets, animals, the delicious mixture of seaweed and rice... which just melts in the mouth :P I talk about books, gadgets, cars, the weather, painting, art, recent political events...

I don't know.
If you are interested to have a conversation, I'd guess the easiest and most straight forward thing is to find a topic you share.
Arts or life in general.

I think we share no common discussion topics, and if we do I guess we disagree on it on way or another.

Yes me curious too.
Regarding your question, there are sooo many things one can talk about. People even go out and talk to strangers. How can you not talk to your father? Don't you have any stories, or past events to talk about? Any memories that you shared previously?

However. I do believe in الله (Allah), the Quran and our beloved Prophet (PBUH) because when men were burying their daughters and committing infanticides our beloved Prophet banned this. When women were thought of as chattel and were not given their rights Islam inscribed the laws to make sure women were treated properly. To ensure the protection of women and their rights to property.
Islam is not a religion. But a message sent to man by الله

If we go back to topic, you could talk with your dad about your future. Like what kind of jobs interest you and what you are planning to study or do after the grammar school. If you don´t know yet, you still can discuss about this subject and ask his advices.
Only problem might becomes if he prefers you to take Islamic studies and become an imam, you might find some problems from this idea. ;)
