Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu Anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said:

“If people only knew what was in (reward) for the calling the Azaan and the first row (of Salaah), and find no other way to get it other than drawing lots for it, they would certainly draw lots for it. If they only knew what there was in going early to the Salaah, they would race each other to get there. If they only knew what was in the prayers of Isha and Fajr, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.”*(Bukhari & Muslim)

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri Radhiyallahu Anhu said to Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman ibn Abi Sa‘sa‘ah:

“I see that you love sheep and the desert. When you are among your sheep or in the desert, call the Azaan (at the time of Salaah) and raise your voice when doing it. No jinn or Man or anything within range hears the voice of the muadhin without bearing witness for his (Imaan) on the Day of Qiyaamah.”

Abu Sa‘id Radhiyallahu Anhu said:

“I heard this from Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam.” (Bukhari)

Sayyiduna Anas Radhiyallahu Anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said:

“Dua between the Adhan and the Iqamah is not rejected.”*(Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)

Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattaab Radhiyallahu Anhu reports Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said:

“When the Muazzin calls “Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar” and one of you replies “Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar”;

and then he calls, “Ash-hadu al-Laa Ilaaha Illallah” and you reply, “Ash-hadu al-Laa ilaaha illallah”;

and then he calls, “Ash-hadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah” and you reply, “Ash-hadu anna Muhammadar Rasulullah”;

and then he calls, “Hayya Alas Salaah” and you reply, “Laa Hawla wa Laa Quwwata illaa Billah”;

and then he calls, “Hayya Alal Falaah” and you reply, “Laa Hawla wa Laa Quwwata illaa Billah”;

and then he calls, “Laa Ilaaha Illallah” and you reply, “Laa Ilaaha Illallah” from your heart, you will enter Jannah.” (Muslim)

Jamiat Comment:

It is disheartening to note that when the Azaan is called, many Muslims do not afford it its due respect. The Azaan is one of the great signs of Islam and respecting it is extremely important. Let us strive to correct this behaviour for respectfully replying to the Azaan with sincerity is one of the keys to Jannah.

Subhan Allah.

:jz: for sharing.

Saddening to see sometimes brothers are engaged in worldly conversations, while Adhan is being called. Reflect, listen and respond to the call :ia: :).
