Walaikumasalaam,
I think that's a very good step to take.
I know it's hard to find the effort and determination sometimes to get up and do physical activity (especially when you are stressed) but you will really find
many pleasant surprises after the hard work that you put in.
There's many different things you can do. Try and change them around so you don't get bored. Play table tennis, football, cricket, running, walking, boxercise, going up and down the stairs and so on and so forth. Exercise can be done anywhere and isn't just something which should be saved for the gym.
Try your local park, at home, walking in the countryside or hills.
Do activities on your own or with your family in particular your mum because no matter how old we are we all need exercise.
Islam is concerned with man’s well-being in both body and soul, and it encourages all kinds of sport that will strengthen the body and maintain good health as well as providing relaxation and leisure, such as swimming, shooting, horse-riding, sword-fighting and wrestling.
We all go through different challenges in life and while we may not be able to choose our challenges we
CAN choose how we react so brother don't let your neighbours dictate your moods or your life because ultimately at the moment you are.
If you think about it you have wasted so much time dwelling on this issue and you are still in the same situation.
If there is no solution you must find a way that allows you to get through the situation.
Am sure you have heard this many times Allah swt does not burden a soul with more than he/she can bear! Subhana Allah so think about this.
Allah swt is saying to you this is something you can handle and will handle insha Allah. Subhana Allah why do we need confirmation and validation from human beings when Allah swt the Most Kind & Merciful KNOWS you will come out stronger because of this situation. Subhana Allah.
