Anyone had this done? What was your experience? I really want it but it looks absolutely terrifying.

Do not watch if you have a weak stomach lol

I wouldn't go for it personally - tbh it is expensive and there are risks involved, and it completely freaks me out! I am a suspicious person, lol, I wouldn't be able to trust anyone with my eyesight, :o alhamdulillah I can manage so why take the risk?

Someone I know did have it done, she loved the results - but still no amount of her persuasion could make me do it.

I am fine with a pair of glasses - some frames are very stylish and they make you look intelligent. :D

Well I wear contacts at the moment but I was just thinking the amount of money I'll spend on contacts in my life I could just get this done instead and then not have to worry about putting them in all the time.

InshaAllah, read about it, ask others who have had it done, and I suppose if you feel ready for it, and find a reputable optician who you can do it from, then go ahead. I'm too scared to have it done atm.

I tried contact lenses, they didn't suit me at all - I tried expressions, freshlook, I found them all so uncomfortable.

This looks fascinating! I bet it would feel weird though.
It's not suitable for my eyes however my friend had it done and it's worked well for her Alhamdulillah.

What did your friend think of the experience? I really looks like something out of hell but I really think it would be a worthwhile investment

To quote: ' Alhamdulillah I've got HD vision!’ Lol. Personally, I think it's best to stick with glasses for those who are able to. Contact lenses deprive the eyes of oxygen, which isn't at all healthy.
It's a huge decision so I'd advise you to be careful; pray istikhara, read reviews, find a registered doctor, ask to speak to other patients who've had it done at the practice etc.

I got this done a few months ago, and it is simply AMAZING!!!!!!!

There have been no complications, from the moment the surgery ended, my vision was 20/20.

After about 1 week, the eyes are healed. It is a good idea to avoid touching them for at least 3 weeks after just in case.

In terms of pain, there was essentially no pain at all during the surgery.

Actually, the best word to describe it is "uncomfortable".

It lasts about 10 minutes altogether.

The surgeon lowers a suction cup to prevent your eye from moving.

This part is the uncomfortable part, for only 30 seconds.

Then there will be a bunch of colors, he will guide you where to look.

My surgery cost $4,000 in total. I think it's not bad considering the cost of contacts, glasses, solution, eye doctor appointments, wasted time, convenience, etc.

Overall I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. You can still wear fashion glasses after if you like!

I wear glasses since in grade XI. But then when I was in university I decide to wear contact lenses. The reason was simple, few of my friends said that my appearance was better without glasses. But actually wearing contact lenses was uncomfortable. My eyes was always sore when I was in dusty place. Yeah, contact lenses actually not suitable for outdoor. That's why after I got married I decided to wear glasses again, until now.

How about lasik?. I am not interested although I am afford to pay its cost. I decide to still wear glasses because I have learned a good lesson about beauty. Glasses does not reduce beauty. Even glasses can support beauty because it makes people have special impression to the person who wear it.

So, do not afraid to wear glasses if you must wear it. You can still look beautiful, even more beautiful, with glasses. The key is, choose the glasses with shape that matched with your face and your personality.

By all means, those who want to do laser eye surgery should do it. The person I know who had it done was absolutely over the moon about it and alhamdulillah she makes me smile whenever she tells me how she is so grateful that her vision is now 'hd'.

But I'm more than happy with my glasses - I love wearing those black oversized glasses and tbh I think I'm so used to wearing them I wouldn't want to give them up. I think if I ever did decide to go for laser eye surgery I'd still wear a pair of non-prescription glasses out of habit, :D

Unless my eyesight gets better on its own (it hasn't really worsened in years), I'm happy with my glasses :)

:shade: Emoticon seems relevant to the thread lol

I hate glasses, not because I think they don't make my look pretty but because I don't like the feeling of them on my face all the time. Contacts are much better but now I heard from Aisha that they're unhealthy for your eyes. Makes me want to get laser eye surgery even more now.

I fear eye surgery. :/

Especially when they cut that cornea. MY GOD. I am pretty sure A LOT of light gets passed through the eyes..

I'm going to point out that I wear contact lenses myself, although not the regular ones! Glasses aren't an option for me with me vision being -22 so I get these scleral lens. They're made of a hard plastic which looks scary at first but they're pretty comfortable Alhamdulillah. These ones do allow oxygen to permeate, however my lens specialist still won't allow me to wear them for longer than eight hours. :ermm: and tells me to have a day without them here and there, so my eyes can 'breathe'.
I'm just surprised that regular contact lens fitters don't mention this aspect to their patients, especially when the lens aren't a necessity. You can get them if you like, I just think everyone needs to be aware of the risks.
One of the girls at my school had blood clots removed from her eyes a couple of times due to contact lenses, caused by the oxygen not getting through so I'm distrustful of them lol.

Your eyes are -22?!

And I thought mine were bad!

Even if you got laser surgery, you would need it again in a few years.

Laser Eye surgery is scary indeed! My mother had gone through it because of her cataract operation AlhamdulillAh she got discharged on same day after 15 min operation and one week rest recommendation. One you are mentioning is for vision ,which is risky .my friend had undergone such laser surgery and she had no side effects.I would recommend you consult a very reputed ophthalmologist for it as its a very sensitive issue.
