Mushrooms are Halaal. Rasoolullaah Sallallaahu `Alayhi wa Sallam said that mushrooms are good for the eyes. The Hadeeth appears in Bukhaari Shareef.

Imaam ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah Rahmatullaahi `Alayhi also states in Zaad-ul-Ma`aad, with regards to mushrooms, that they are a cure for paralysis bi-Idhnillaah.

But, be careful not to eat poisonous mushrooms.

Mushroom is a vegetable. All types of vegetables are halal to eat.

Note that some mushrooms might be toxic. Don´t eat them.

Toxic mushrooms would be haraam, poison isn't it? :D Otherwise they're a vegetable, and veggies are halal alhamdulillah.

Alhamdulillah that you know now, sometimes we can hear strange things growing up, :).

I am not sure about prawns tbh, but yes mushrooms are definitely halal alhamdulillah. I personally don't like their taste at all, but if you do like them, they are a healthy and nutritious food.

Prawns:

Question:
I have heard that prawns are makrooh. Is this true?

Answer:
According to the reaserch of the Shafi’ee, Maliki, and hanbali school of thought, they are halal because these three imams say that all sea animals are halal.
However, within the hanafi school of fiqh there are two opinions regarding prawns. Imam Abu Hanifah rahmatullahi alayhi says that among the creatures that live in water, only fish is halal. This is due to the Hadeeth which uses the word سمك samak ie. Fish.

Now there is a debate within the Hanafi school as to whether prawns can be classed as fish or not.

According to many linguistic specialists prawns are a type of fish, as stated in the ‘Qamoos’ and ‘Taajul Uroos’.

Also, Allama Dameeri has written in his book ‘Hayyatul Hayawaan’

الروبيان هو سمك صغير جدا أحمر

Translation: “Prawns are very small red fish”

On this basis, many of the Hanafi Scholars have said prawns are halal.

However the modern day animal classification experts do not count prawns as a type of fish. They say the definition of fish is:

هو حيوان ذو عمود فقري يعيش في الماء و يسبح بعواماته و يتنفس بغلصمته

Translation: A fish is that creature which has a backbone, lives in water, swims with its fins and breathes through its gills.

Prawns do not come under the category of fish, because they do not have a backbone nor do they breathe through gills. So they fall under the category of insects, and would not be allowed.

Since many Ulama still regard prawns as a fish and eating them is common amongst them so eating prawns cannot be classed as haram.

However, due to the conflicting evidence, they could be classed as Makrooh. It would be better to avoid them. But, if someone does eat them, we shouldn’t say anything to them. Allah knows best.

I like prawns and mussels as well. In Quran it says that sea food is halal. I dont know why Imam Abu Hanifa thinks otherwise?

Maida 96 "Lawful to you is the pursuit of water-game and its use for food,- for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel; but forbidden is the pursuit of land-game;- as long as ye are in the sacred precincts or in state of pilgrimage. And fear Allah, to Whom ye shall be gathered back."

Not permissible. Islaam forbids all kinds of intoxicants.

Psilocybin Mushrooms (Magic Mushrooms) are one of the ten most commonly used drugs in the world, like LSD, Ecstasy, Cocaine, etc. They're even banned in many countries.

Shellfish
(Prawns, lobsters, and crabs) also live on land as opposed to are limited to water. They also lack a lot of the qualities that define "fish" and we classify them as arthropods. In this regard it is understandable why there may be some question because these animals are not exclusive to the water.

Normal mushrooms are halal.
But psychoactive drugs aren't.
So "Magic Mushrooms" are clearly haram.

Technically, you wouldn't use the plural form in that sentence. You can say either of:
- it's a fungus
- they're fungi

It's like saying a cat is an animals; you have to say either of:
- it's an animal
- they're cats

Sorry for the grammar lesson lol - just having a bit of fun ;).

Mushrooms are primarily valuable mineral springs. They are also light and low-fat diet. Mushrooms contain about 90% water by weight, ranging from the species, the habitat and the amount of rainfall. Fats is low, about 1-8% of the dry matter. Fresh mushrooms nutritional value can be compared with skimmed milk and dried mushrooms with partially dried reduced-fat cheeses, but in fungi is significantly more trace elements. Cooking and soaking dilute the flavor and reduce the mineral and vitamin content.

About half of the energy of mushrooms is a protein whose quantity and quality varies with the species. Less than half is largely made up of different sugars in carbohydrates. Fungal protein is a quality meat like, and slowly absorbed carbohydrates. Minerals of them may be diverse, mainly potassium and phosphorus. Smaller amounts of fungi may also mm. copper, selenium, zinc, and cobalt. a source of vitamins significance of the fungus is not large, they may be mainly B-vitamin. Vitamin C, however, is found in many mushrooms about as much as berries and vegetables, but the cooking or baking destroy the majority of them. Nutritional anti fungus is not only a lighter weight muodastamasta also chitin from them and other indigestible substances "filaments".

Fungi have been found in compounds that may reduce your appetite, prevent dental caries, curb cancers, reduce cholesterol and protect blood vessels.

It´s needed to remember that they collect environmental toxins and their proteins are poorly digestible. That´s why they can cause stomach pains.
