Asalamu Alaikum:

Can we brush our teeth while fasting? (Some people brush while fasting others brush their teeth b4 suhur and after iftaar, some say it breaks the fast if you brush after suhur). Are we allowed to use inhalers? (Asthma pumps)

Walaikumasalaam,

I personally brush my teeth before Fajar azaan so i am not left with any doubt.

Please visit https://islamqa.info/en/13619

Regarding using inhalers please visit https://islamqa.info/en/37650

If you have any general questions the above website is a really good one to use but of course please make sure it coincides with your school of thought.

Jazahka Allah.

Walaykum asalam

Yes brushing the teeth is allowed while fasting, providing no water or toothpaste accidently goes down your throat as this will invalidate your fast even if its unintentional. The actuall brushing of the teeth isnt what will invalidate the fast, it would be the water or toothpaste accidently going down your throat while rinsing or gargling.
In Hanafi fiqh its disliked to brush teeth for the other schools of thought im not too sure.

As for asma it depends on what type you use, which is explained here as i dont have asma and wouldnt understand which one your using

Sewak on tap, during ramadhan :)

You can use sewak (miswak) while fasting.

Using toothpaste is makrooh, it can go down.

Use a miswak, that is the safest, and it has so many other benefits as well as being sunnah.
