Hello, I am 16 years old. I use to be a firm believer of Islam, I would pray consistently and feel the presence of Allah; however, recently I had lost the feeling of his presence. I no longer feel him guiding me; instead I feel lost. I started drinking alcohol and smoking, I stopped praying. I would like to stop these activities and feel closer to Allah. I tried to pray but every time I pray I feel like he is not listening and that it is just a waste. I don't know what I should do! I want to rekindle my faith in Islam but I don't know how to?

Yusuf ibn Asbat (d. 195-197 H) once said,
I heard Sufyan Ath-Thawri saying:”Three qualities are from patience:
~ Not to speak about your misfortune
~ [not to speak about your] pain,
~ And not to praise yourself.”
Al-Hilyah (volume 6 page 389)
