I thought I would do this just for interest and motivate me and others about learning quran
please answer honestly and lets not judge each other for our levels of deen here. its just for helping each other insha allah

Ten questions about Quran

1. When did you start to learn Quran?
2. Besides Al Fatiha, what was the first Surah of Quran you learned?
3. How many Surahs of Quran have you memorized?
4. What is your favourite surah of Quran?
5. What languages of Quran translation do you read in addition to Arabic?
6. Who is your favourite Quran recitor?
7. Do you teach Quran to anyone (ie. friends, strangers, your children, other peoples children, etc)?
8. Where do you learn Quran (ie. online, in the masjid, from a trusted friend, etc)?
9. How many Qurans and/or translations of Quran do you own?
10. How old were you when you bought or recieved your first Quran?


Those are all my questions. I hope this is interesting for all and doesn't turn negative.
my answers are
1. I would say its how i converted. so I started learning quran from day one.
2. surah iklas
3. about ten...give or take a few...insha allah there will be more
4. I like surah maryam
5. english
6. abdul baset abdul samed
7. no...but insha allah one day I will feel confident enough and qualified to teach Quran
8. I learn through an online sisters quran group
9. 4
10. i was 26 and i bought it myself through an online store before I was muslim.

I think I was around 13ish when I attempted to read Quran alone in translation. My comprehension skills weren't strong back then though so it was confusing to me because of the way the translation was written.

I memorized al fatiha and al ikhlas together in the same day at a young age, and then I think it was al-nas afterwards.

1. When did you start to learn Quran? When I was around 12.

2. Besides Al Fatiha, what was the first Surah of Quran you learned? Al-Ikhlaas (still a favourite!)

4. What is your favourite surah of Quran? Surah ar-Rahman - I cry whenever I hear it!

5. What languages of Quran translation do you read in addition to Arabic? Just English atm, altho my parents do have an Urdu one.

6. Who is your favourite Quran recitor? Mishary

7. Do you teach Quran to anyone (ie. friends, strangers, your children, other peoples children, etc)? I'm still learning so much myself tbh.

8. Where do you learn Quran (ie. online, in the masjid, from a trusted friend, etc)? Online

9. How many Qurans and/or translations of Quran do you own? I think we have 2 Qurans and 3 translations.

10. How old were you when you bought or recieved your first Quran? I used to read from my mother's but I especially chose one for myself when I was 16, it has a beautiful black and gold cover!

19 short verses plus ayyatul Kursi. I struggle to memorise..

4. What is your favourite surah of Quran?
For now amongst the short verses I know it is At takkatur and Watini wazaitoon.

English and Malay

Don't know. Hear a lot often coming from everywhere, masjids that I don't need to specifically listen.

7. Do you teach Quran to anyone (ie. friends, strangers, your children, other peoples children, etc)?
Not qualified to. But do discuss with people.

8. Where do you learn Quran (ie. online, in the masjid, from a trusted friend, etc)?
However the means. Quite a lot going around as I live in a muslim country. But sometimes seminars, kutbahs, taskirah, books, online etc

9. How many Qurans and/or translations of Quran do you own?
More than 5. Pure Arabic. With English translations 3 copies and Malay 2 copies.

10. How old were you when you bought or recieved your first Quran?
Can't remember..

Idk honestly, maybe 5 or 6? I'm getting back up my ropes

Surah Rahman

5. What languages of Quran translation do you read in addition to Arabic?
English, Danish, Dutch

6. Who is your favourite Quran recitor?
Minshawi :)

7. Do you teach Quran to anyone (ie. friends, strangers, your children, other peoples children, etc)?
Not really

8. Where do you learn Quran (ie. online, in the masjid, from a trusted friend, etc)?

3 or 4
