You cannot prohibit someone to follow an opinion, but someone will prohibit himself to follow an opinion if he know that this opinion is wrong.

So do not say "Don't follow this opinion!", but explain why this opinion is wrong.

Nobody perfect. Reliable person can make wrong opinion too.

This is a very vague question .

In a community of followers of tradition, and one person questions it or tells something different will probably get opposition although with better knowledge the practice may be bid'ah...

So it is not so straight forward..
