For US

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

For UK

The form of citizenship oath and pledge for registration of or
naturalisation as a British citizen is as follows:

Oath:

"I, [name], swear by Almighty God that, on becoming a British
citizen, I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors
according to law."

Pledge:

"I will give my loyalty to the United Kingdom and respect its
rights and freedoms. I will uphold its democratic values. I
will observe its laws faithfully and fulfil my duties and
obligations as a British citizen."

I decided to see this for myself because I read the following stating that citizenship of certain countries can an act of Kufr.

Adopting an unbelieving foreign nationality instead of an Islamic one has been declared an act of Kufr by some scholars. A person does not take this nationality except after becoming prepared by submitting to the laws of these countries and aligning his loyalty to them and his enmity for those who go against them. He might also be prepared by fighting [for them]. If the Islamic army approached the unbelievers land, he [would have to] face the Islamic army because he has become a soldier for the enemies of Allaah and is prepared. They might enlist and prepare him to fight the Muslims in their own lands, as has occurred in Afghanistan. They recruited Muslims to fight the Afghans and a fatwa (religious edict) was issued by some corrupt scholars stating it is allowed for [a Muslim] to fight the Muslims to confirm his nationality and his allegiance to America. This is the fatwaa of Al-Qardawi, who occupies a great status amongst Muslims due to this fatwa. Allah bless you, how many evil corrupt edicts there are! We ask Allah for protection and wellbeing!

I find the oath in US kufr akbar, but I wanted to comment and ask some questons on this fatwa ^, can any scholar clarify?

Cuz I find this fatwa generalising and quite ignorant of Era we live in.. Shouldn't this whole thing be a case by case thing?
Cuz honestly I find this judgmental, prejudiced and just plainly generalising and full of what ifs.

So can anyone clarify? I find the oath kufr akbar. Allegiance and pledge to a kafir nation, isn't that all kufr? ....... I may be completely off.

I've made no allegiance to anything or anyone except the Shariah Law.

Any Scholarly input is welcomed.

This is not my post, I just saw it on UF, and wanted some clarifications.

And Allah :swt: knows best.

I bear witness that there is no god but Almighty God and i bear witmess that Muhammad is the messenger of Almighty God is more truthful and just than any other statement, anything that attempts to defy Almighty God who created the heavens and the earth - is obvious falsehood.

For man can no longer be a slave to Almighty God and mammon at the same time.
also recall what the Muslim envoy said to the persian delegates...

إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِي الْكَذِبَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ وَأُوْلـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ

{105*016:105*Khan:
It is only those who believe not in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, who fabricate falsehood, and it is they who are liars.

Quran Chapter Name:An-Nahl, The Bee Verse No:105

----------

16.*And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand!
17.*"For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood.
The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return.
18.*"And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)."
19.*See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah.
20.*Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.
21.*"He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned.
22.*"Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper."
23.*Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty.
24.*So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.
25.*And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help."
26.*But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise."
27.*And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous.
28.*And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.
29.*"Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth."
30.*He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!"
31.*When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime."
32.*He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"
33.*And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind.
34.*"For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."
35.*And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand.

Edit:

Here's what rab'i is reported to have said:

Rab'i bin 'Amir appeared in Rustum's court. His dress was marred with patches and darning marks. He was carrying an ordinary sword and shield. He entered the Persian camp riding an ordinary horse. Dressed in his unimpressive outfit he entered the court, crushing it's plush carpets. He tied his horse and approached Rustum. As he was armed with his shield and sword, guards at the entrance objected and asked him to lay down his weapons. Rab'i bin 'Amir refused, saying that he had not approached Rustum on his own, rather Rustum had invited him. If the guards did not let him enter in his armed state, he would return to his camp. Rustum allowed him to retain his arms.

From Narrowness to Spaciousness

Underwhelmed by the sumptuous setting of the court, Rab'i approached Rustum with great confidence. Rustum asked him what had brought the Arabs to Persia? With his indomitable courage and conviction, which owed it's origin to the divine Scripture and the Prophet's message he elegantly said:

"Allah (the Almighty) has sent us so that we may liberate fellow human beings from subservience to other fellow human beings and bring them to obedience to the One True God. We are here to take them from the narrowness of the world to the spaciousness of this world and the hereafter. Our aim is to free them of the persecution perpetrated against them by other ways of life. We want to bless them with the justice and equity of Islam."

Certainly, I bear witness to the Shahadah, and I affirm Tawheed, reject shirk and kufr, and any Law defying Shariah.

I definitely reject USA's oath, and all of its laws that goes against Shariah. I will wait for a scholar to answer my questions.

If an Islamic Army invades the country I live in, I can not take arms against it, wouldnt it be kufr?
