:sl: Brothers & Sisters

Today is the day at Arafah where our most beloved Prophet

gave one among his last sermons just 3 months before Leaving us for good And If the Ummah just sticks ATLEAST EVEN TO THIS SERMON ,
to its every word of this great last sermon it will succeed by the help of Allah, Inshallah

This sermon was delivered on the Ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, 10 A.H. (632 AD) in the Uranah valley of Mount Arafat in Mecca. It was the occasion of annual rites of Hajj. It is also known as the Farewell Pilgrimage where there were more than 120,000 sahabas .

The Last Sermon of the Prophet
http://alhafeez.org/lastsermon.htm

The last sermon of the Prophet-peace be upon him- is known as Khutbatul Wada'. It is mentioned in almost all books of Hadith. Following Ahadith in Sahih Al-Bukhari refer to the sermon and quote part of it. See Al-Bukhari, Hadith 1623, 1626, 6361) Sahih of Imam Muslim also refers to this sermon in Hadith number 98. Imam al-Tirmidhi has mentioned this sermon in Hadith nos. 1628, 2046, 2085. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal has given us the longest and perhaps the most complete version of this sermon in his Masnud, Hadith no. 19774.

Whosoever heard whatever part of the sermon reported it and later some scholars put it together. It is a great khutbah and we should all pay attention to its message and guidance since it contained much guidance and instructions on many issues and there is no hadith strongest than these sermons which had 10,000's of witnesses.

"O People. Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again.Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People. Just as you regard this month, this day, this city as sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest); therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity.

Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn ‘Abd al Muttalib (the Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived.Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People. It is true that you have certain rights in regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives, only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat you women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People. Listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat.Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefor, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone. People, no prophet or Apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah (Hadith), and if you follow these you will never go astray. All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listened to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people ''

Towards the end of his sermon, the Prophet asked "O people, have I faithfully delivered unto you my Message?" A powerful murmur of assents " O Allah! yes!" arose from thousands of pilgrims and the vibrant words "Allahumma Na'm," rolled like thunder throughout the valley.

The Prophet raised his forefinger and said: "O Allah bear witness that I have conveyed your message to your people."

************************************************** ***********************
As part of this sermon, the prophet recited to them a revelation from Allah, which he had just received, and which completed the Quran, for it was the last passage to be revealed:

"
This day the disbeliever's despair of prevailing against your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me (Allah)! This day have I perfected for you, your religion and fulfilled My favor unto you, and it hath been My good pleasure to choose Islam for you as your religion"
(Surah 5, Ayah 3)

The sermon was repeated sentence by sentence by Safwan's brother Rabiah (RA), who had powerful voice, at the request of the Prophet and he faithfully, proclaimed to over ten thousand gathered on the occasion.

Wa alaykum assalam,

SubhanAllah, every time I read this it strikes me just how relevant and comprehensive the Prophet's (peace be upon him) words of advice were. A complete charter of human rights.

JazakAllah khayr for reminding us of this wonderful sermon.

It was narrated from Ibn Musayyab that ‘Aishah said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
There is no day on which Allah ransoms more slaves from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah. He draws closer and closer, then He boasts about them before the angels and says: ‘What do these people want?

:salam:

A Warm Eid Mubarak to All of You. Its Eid here in Thailand. May it bring peace and unity and love among our Muslim Brethren.

Let me quote those sermons in parts which are MORE ELABORATE which were reported through different Sahabas through different collectors of hadiths .

Bukhari :: Book 2 :: Volume 26 :: Hadith 795

Narrated 'Ikrima: Ibn Abbas said: "Allah's Apostle delivered a sermon on the Day of Nahr, and said, 'O people! (Tell me) what is the day today?' The people replied, 'It is the forbidden (sacred) day.' He asked again, 'What town is this?' They replied, 'It is the forbidden (Sacred) town.' He asked, 'Which month is this?' They replied, 'It is the forbidden (Sacred) month.' He said, 'No doubt! Your blood, your properties, and your honor are sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this (sacred) town (Mecca) of yours, in this month of yours.' The Prophet repeated his statement again and again. After that he raised his head and said, 'O Allah! Haven't conveyed (Your Message) to them'. Haven't I conveyed Your Message to them?' " Ibn Abbas added, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, the following was his will (Prophet's will) to his followers:--It is incumbent upon those who are present to convey this information to those who are absent Beware don't renegade (as) disbelievers (turn into infidels) after me, Striking the necks (cutting the throats) of one another.' "

Note : This sermon was on the day of Nahr ie the final eid day as today where Prophet :saws: compares three Vs Three, Subhanallah what a superb comparison ? The superb way to make his beloved UMMAH understand its importance & to keep the Muslims in Peace if this is followed in each Muslim country then there no cries and fighting as in Turkey by the Gulen or Kurds in Iraq etc etc . Muslims are Brothers and Sisters and No Muslim can accept the spoiling honor of his / her Sister or brother. May the Muslims of the world listen to their Master Prophet:saws: advice or they have NO RIGHT to call themselves as Muslims (islam-peace) let them call themselves as POB or bush men or worst than that.

Allahuakbar, Allahuakbar , Allahuakbar, Laa ilaaha ilallaahu wallahu Akbar , Allahu Akbar , walilaahilHamdh.

Prophet :saws: repeated this hadith very often during the days of Haj even at Mina & even confirmed with Allah that he has passed the message as seen in previous post shows its importance.

Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 73 :: Hadith 69
Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
The Prophet said at Mina, "Do you know what day is today?" They (the people) replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better," He said "Today is 10th of Dhul-Hijja, the sacred (forbidden) day. Do you know what town is this town?" They (the people) replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "This is the (forbidden) Sacred town (Mecca a sanctuary)." And do you know which month is this month?" They (the People) replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, ''This is the Sacred (forbidden) month ." He added, "Allah has made your blood, your properties and your honor Sacred (forbidden) to one another (i.e. Muslims) like the sanctity of this day of yours in this month of yours, in this town of yours." (See Hadith No. 797, Vol. 2.)

Note : In our times only blood is considered sacred & haram because the law of the land controls it while wealth cheating is seen frequently by many cunning ways but though its taken as a small sin and the speaking ill on honor of a person has become just a simple matter to kill time though prophet :saws: has compared Honor to the two former ie Blood & wealth of a muslim. About speaking ill of honor some hadith had condemned it as THE WORST OF THE RIBA ,we know riba's sins are as worst as zina with one's own mother, Naudhubillah.

ANOTHER TYPE OF INTREST RIBA

Dawud :: Book 41 : Hadith 4858
Narrated Sa'id ibn Zayd: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The most prevalent kind of usury (riba) is going to lengths in talking unjustly against a Muslim's honour.

Dawud :: Book 41 : Hadith 4859
Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The gravest sin is going to lengths in talking unjustly against a Muslim's honour, and it is a major sin to abuse twice for abusing once.

Dawud :: Book 41 : Hadith 4860
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: When I was taken up to heaven I passed by people who had nails of copper and were scratching their faces and their breasts. I said: Who are these people, Gabriel? He replied: They are those who were given to back biting and who aspersed people's honour.
