Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم was neither "very social" and nor was he anti-social; as with everything else in his Mubaarak life, he took the middle path. He took things in moderation. He was not a person who socialised 24/7, nor was he someone who cut off from people. Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم associated with people, married, had children, had friends, always kept family ties, etc. At the same time, Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم loved spending some time in solitude, and he would go to Ghaar-e-Hiraa for days at a time; sometimes even a month or so. He would spend that time in Muraaqabah (contemplation).

So as Muslims, we follow the Sunnah of Rasoolullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم. We should neither be "social butterflies", nor should we be recluses. Marry, have children, have friends, keep family ties, mix with people, and at the same time, spend some time alone in Muraaqabah, Muhaasabah, extra `Ibaadah and Adhkaar, etc.
