im 48 and from dewsbury U.K.
i recently did a bbc interview about 7/7 ,terrorism, community issues

i dont like divisions in the ummah, all the different labels.

we believe in one allah s.w.t.
one prophet muhammad s.a.w. as THE final messenger.
one ka aba,one direction for salah
one yearly hajj

so why so many labels
why have they been carried over from the subcontinent
im not going to post them here
i want to remove the labels, the division,

do we not agree on enough already
so can we not agree to disagree on some issues at least

the ummah is suffering,do i even need to tell you this
we need unity, hate spreads hate, love overcomes all negatives
we need tolerance and love to be the victor
NO ONE WILL RESPECT US UNTIL WE DO NOT RESPECT EACH OTHER

please teach your children that they are muslim
not from a certain village,certain "sect",certain "school"

are you an "i" or will you be a "we"

on this day friday make an intention to use one label from now on upon yourself..
MUSLIM..alhamdulillah

just muslim?..no

MUSLIM..BY THE GRACE AND MERCY OF ALLAH TAALA

True
But still, there must be a reason why some people need to use label.. one of em might be to distinguish them from other muslims [emoji1]

mankind is insolence and competition.

it gets to a point where we are so dependent on chasing our own tails that we cannot offer to chase other people's.

the only way to make people sit at the same table is to offer free food..

and hope they are happy with what they are eating.. or who.

never mind the people..

this is why imams can't sit together.

because nobody likes to be raised and lowered..

ask the lowered.

wow.. I'm sorry.

I know what it feels like to to oppose the status quo..

let's hope that in future we promote and aid understanding that transgression has no benefit.

and if we are to oppose the way things are.. let us live our lives doing so.

may Allah swt have mercy upon us.

when muslims constantly talk about syria/palestine they become popular

if you focus on community problems and issues its the opposite

introspection takes courage
moaning and the victim mentality is too popular maybe because its easier

Assalaamu alaikum Ahmed,

I listened to your interview. You sound very honest and sincere. I am sorry that you and your family had to go through this experience, and I hope that your sister and her child have been able to build a decent life.

I agree that there is a certain hypocrisy if we talk about all the injustices and problems elsewhere, but are reluctant to look at the problems that we could actually do something about: the ones that are under our noses. Being just and good to those around us, supporting the weak and oppressed around us, is so very important... and yet, how often do we go out of our way to be kind, to stand up for those who need help? How often do we give the help that we could actually give?

I also agree that discrimination and division is a problem in our Muslim communities. I don't know the state of things in Britain (I am in Canada), but I have noticed around me that there is not one Muslim community, but many. We are divided by the nationalities of the countries where we were born, by the colours of our skins, by our ethnicities, by politics, by our generation, by our religious understandings, by our egos...

(smile) So I salute you for your wise words. We need mature voices to help guide our young ones.

May Allah, the Bountiful, Bless those who struggle to improve themselves in order to to do good for others... for the sake of Pleasing God.

its a sad world when someone who speaks the truth is maligned.when a victim is further victimised.when an innocent is blamed of damage.and when a destroyer is no longer in the equation.how twisted people twist things to silence truth and justice.how usurpers of rights and wealth are thought of as charitable.how parents are toxic to one but favourable to other siblings.how oppression abroad is highlighted but oppression at home is never discussed or resolved.and so it carries on, the denial by some and the laying of guilt upon others.the truth is powerful,it can never be suppressed.the manipulators can manipulate but truth can never be silenced

the struggle carries on

we have become expert moaners
but not expert and effective doers
fights in mosques where others have to calm the situation
we cannot even run our own homes and mosques properly
then we moan about others running our lives
we cannot prevent
grooming gangs, terrorists, spousal and daughter in law abuse

is that all we want to be known for?

yes there is disproportionate reporting
but do we engage in proportionate and effective measures in our own communities to deal with the cancers and enemies and idiots within
or are we more bothered about respect and losing that chair ,that platform, that izzat

Brother in-law of 7/7 bomber Mohammad Siddique Khan speaks out

Ahmed Patel's sister was married to Mohammed Siddique Khan - the ringleader of the group of 4 suicide bombers who were responsible for the 7/7 bombings. Ahmed spoke exclusively to Secunder about what his brother in law was like, about the impact that day has had on his family and crucially how he wants to help in the fight against radicalisation

The existence of labels is a valid one as Islam does recognize that we belong to different tribes.

The purpose of said tribes is so that we may recognize each other as being different from one another.

Allah has indeed created us unique. We have different looks, personalities, tribes ETC.

That is a good thing, the ummah's diversity and the fact that Islam is now a global religion should be a source of strength for us, not weakness.

Even so, I agree with you. The current usage of labels in the ummah divides us; and so it is important to remember that when the Muslims battle with the Jews the rocks and trees will call them not by the names "Palestinian" or "Indian".

They will call them by the name, "Muslim".

We are one.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I have read your article on your blog. You wrote:

Therefore , The Muslim victim industry and the anti-prevent brigade (m.v.i.) (a.p.b.), should ponder over how they operate.

Any articles, talks, tweets or campaigns against Muslim criminals anywhere ?

Do they address the causes of “islamofauxbia” ?, which is really a punishment from Allah ta ala for our own sins and failures as this hadith states.

Hadhrat Jareer (Radi Allaho anho) has narrated that Hadhrat Mohammad S.W. was pleased to say: “When an individual of a community sins, and the community, in spite of its authority over him, does not prevent him from sinning, Allah’s punishment descends on them even before death, i.e., He subjects them to various tribulations in this very world.

I openly disagree with the m.v.i. and a.p.b on many of their endeavours, opinions, and approaches, despite being fellow Muslims.
A few points about Prevent. Prevent is a failed policy. It has been derided by academics, [i] teaching unions, [ii] students,[iii] police officers,[iv] and teachers. Many mosques have spoken out against it and there has been a groundswell of opposition to it within the Muslim community. [v][vi][vii]

The Guardian reports on a study done by an advocacy group that the Prevent scheme, which is claimed to be needed for anti-radicalisation purposes, is instilling “fear, suspicion and censorship” on university campuses.

Kevin Courtney, acting General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers, spoke passionately about how Prevent does not prevent terrorism, rather it prevents the freedom of speech of Muslim children. It has created a fear culture in schools causing Muslim children to fear to speak out and it has perpetuated teachers’ fears of Ofsted, which drives Prevent and the “British values” agenda.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association, Maina Kiai, argued in his UK country report: “...By dividing, stigmatising and alienating segments of the population, Prevent could end up promoting extremism, rather than countering it.”

The Council of Europe’s human rights commissioner, Nils Muiznieks repeated many of the same concerns as the UN rapporteur arguing that Prevent was “isolating” Muslim communities.

There are plenty of articles, tweets and campaigns against Muslim criminals. For instance, the following link has a video of hundreds of Muslims condemning terrorism. You can easily find more examples:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...e-protest.html

Working to remove evil can be done in numerous ways. It does not have to be through supporting a failed policy like Prevent.

I am also confused why you think 'islamofauxbia' is a punishment, and the implication that it does not exist. In trying to ward off evil, we should not go to the opposite extreme where merely speaking in favour of Muslims (and defending their human rights) is regarded as problematic.
