things have spiraled out of control in Turkey under Erdogan....im hoping the military seizes power in a coup.....the only problem is, the military is Kemalist, and the faction that will likely carry it out is also ultranationalist....

there is no stopping Erdogan except through a popular uprising, which is unlikely given that the Turks view the state as sacred, and there are too many restrictions which would prevent one.....through Erdogan being outvoted, although that would take years and the elections are rigged according to experts....or a coup..

Kemalism is really good though, that's the best possible outcome for Turkey. What makes you say they're ultra-nationalist? I can see they're called that in the article, but what goes into that? What is it about their approach or beliefs that makes them ultra-nationalist?

:sl: Yes it's bad, do you remember what happened to these 'risings' in the middle east? It gave a birth to what was already a horrifying condition(see Libya and the continuous battle they are still on going) and turned it into devestation and destruction. Al-Fatihah

Hoping someting like military coup is very bad idea. It will plunges the country into deeper chaos and terror. It shows only that Turkey is a society with no balance, no ways to solves it´s social problems without any other than those traditional ways which are always produced only new dictatorships. If majority of Turkish people really believe that military coup is a good idea to reach some kind of stability, they haven´t much hope in the future. Kind of thinking gives also a good chances to different kind of extremist groups like daesh to spread and strengthen their actions inside of the country.
