I'm having trouble remembering the Arabic words while praying, and find myself having to check a page. I'm worried that being distracted by having to stop and read the words is negating my prayers?

Whilst you are memorising the Arabic words for prayer it's perfectly okay to have a piece of paper on hand to refer to inshaAllah. I did the same myself and was told is it fine.

And just as a tip - if you learn the meaning of the Arabic words while you're memorising them, you'll learn really quickly inshaAllah, as well as truly appreciating the beauty of prayer :).
