“From among the signs of Qiyamah is that people will maintain ties with distant relatives and strangers but sever ties with close family.” (Refer: Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 10556, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 7 pg. 323 and Al Bidayah Wan Nihayah, vol. 17 pg. 154, (Lisanul ‘Arab, vol. 7 pg. 79 and Tajul ‘Arus, vol. 13 pg. 287)
ReplyNot really.
You can be close to strangers and distant relatives but not your immediate family while being in the same city

This sounds more about social corruption but I remember another hadith which says that in the end times the tail of his whip will tell the man what his wife is doing at home. This sounds like a mobile phone with headset

It was reported from Abu Sa’id that the Prophet (s) said: “The Hour will not come until the time when a man will leave his home, and his shoes or whip or stick will tell what is happening to his family.”
[Narrated by Ahmad in Musnad, 3:88 and 89]
