The Ruling of the One who Stops Performing Prayer

1- The one who stops performing As-Salah due to denying its obligation:

If he is ignorant about the issue, then he should be informed. Subsequently if he persists on rejecting its obligation, he becomes a disbeliever, as he belies Allah Almighty, His Messenger ﷺ and the consensus of the Muslims.2- The one who stops performing prayer out of laziness:

Whosoever stops performing As-Salah intentionally out of laziness, has disbelieved. It is upon the ruler to order him to perform As-Salah and also advise him, for three days, to repent for abandoning it. Subsequently, if he repents and returns to making the As-Salah, he is spared. But if he does not start praying again, he is killed for apostasy. This is in accordance with the Prophet’s ﷺ statement:“The covenant which is between us and them (the disbelievers) is the prayer; so whosoever leaves it has disbelieved.”
[ Source: At-Tirmidhi.] Also his saying:“Indeed between a man, and shirk and kufr, is abandoning As-Salah.”

the last time i actually told someone i dont pray regularly was a few brothers giving dawah.. from a local dhiker group.

they said i should recite a certain dua 100 times before opening each day..

to increase wealth.

i told them i am content in struggling because ...i know you just cant make some of this stuff up!

..no i said, i do most of the work myself.. and i understand anything that comes through that door does so only by the will of allah swt.

one of them said, thats not true iv seen people work here sometimes..

"/

anyway... i carried on.

then they forgot the tea i had made them and left.

one of them returned a short time later and took the tea...

and asked me if i had any jobs going.

remember to pray brother.. he said..

rub it in i thought, iv visited most of the mosques in my area.

although ironically i seem to spot those two more regularly now.

dont be heedless of your prayers.

i will remember them for a long time.

i read somewhere on the forum certain people that were held in high esteem, did not do business with a person until they had seen the state of his prayer.

probably taken out of context as usual..

although sometimes i think i got it backwards..

...

they would probably kill me off...accidentally of course.

heres hoping for simpler days.

as far as i can remember, shopkeepers are mentioned twice in the quran..

i am aware of my current shortcomings.

Wow, Execution for not praying correctly..In the name of Allah , the beneficent, the merciful..

Surely this is not a common belief?

I am not a Muslim but believe in God and the fact that Mohamed was his messenger as was Jesus..Executions or any punishment by man Doesnt fit with the teachings of Jesus either IMHO..

My understanding is if one doesn't pray, one doesn't benefit the guidance and protection and all the other benefits that go with prayer and making contact with Allah, which is a kind of punishment on its own..
