Signs of the Existence and Tawheed of Allah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In this thread insha-Allah you will read about the signs and proofs of the Existence and Tawheed of Allah All-Mighty from:

1. The Holy Quraan and the Sunnah,

2. Our body,

3. The surrounding universe / nature,

4. Scientific discoveries.

But first of all:

Let us take the Command of Allah Subhaanahoo wa Ta’aala from the Holy Quraan and the Sunnah;

In the very beginning of the Holy Quraan we find the following verses;

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(2:1) Alif, Laam, Meem.1

(2:2) This is the Book of Allah, there is no doubt in it;2 it is a guidance for the pious,3

(2:3)for those who believe in the existence of that which is beyond the reach of perception,4 who establish Prayer5 and spend out of what We have provided them,6

Exp. note 4:

4. This is the second prerequisite for deriving benefit from the Qur'an. Ghayb signifies the verities which are hidden from man's senses and which are beyond the scope of man's ordinary observation and experience, for example the existence and attributes of God, the angels. the process of revelation, Paradise, Hell and so on. 'Belief in the ghaib' means having faith in such matters, based on an absolute confidence in the Messengers of God and despite the fact that it is impossible to experience them.

According to this verse, Qur'anic guidance can prove helpful only to those prepared to affirm the truths of the suprasensory realm. People who make their belief in these questions conditional upon sensory perception of the object of belief, and who are not prepared even to consider the possibility of the existence of things that cannot be weighed or measured, cannot profit from this Book.
************************************************

So we, to become muttaqeen (God fearing pious Muslims), must believe in Allah’s Existence and Tawheed (Absolute Oneness of God Allah) in the unseen. We must also believe in the existence of angels, life after death, Accounting and passing Judgment, Hell and Paradise. In this life we human beings cannot see any of them. We cannot see Allah in this life but we must believe in the Existence and Absolute Oneness of God Allah for the safety of our Faith. We shouldn’t forget that Allah Ta’aala has created us for a test, and the test is that we must believe in Allah and must worship HIM without seeing HIM!!! Also we must know that Satan is our open enemy who has challenged Allah Ta’aala that Satan will prove mankind to be ungrateful and undeserving of the high status.

In the Sunnah:

The Prophet (Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him) informed us that Satan will ask you questions until he will say, “then who created Allah? You say, “aamantu billaahi wa bir-rusulih”. Thus Satan will run away”.

“Aamantu billaahi wa bir- rusulih” means; “ I believe in Allah and HIS Messengers”.

So we must follow the Order of Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam and should not go into doubtful thoughts otherwise Satan will get chance to attack more. We must always say in our mind and with our tongues that we believe in Allah as God unseen to us. Similarly, we must believe in the articles of Faith that we cannot perceive, in the unseen!!!

Insha-Allah I will be posting the signs in the successive posts.

in all honesty.. if a man has an answer like striking a hard stick on the back of the devil..

he is more than successful.

although the difference between just rulers and tyrants is debatable.

...its like reading an open book..

i find myself not being able to read in return.

strange days.

...people that brought there own plates.

although in hindsight i would not have read against them anyway.

The story of As-haabil-kahf (Sleepers of the cave)

This story is present in the beginning of the surah Al-Kahf. The sleepers of the cave were a few people with the Faith of Tawheed. That means that they believed in the Existence and Absolute Oneness of God Allah and they worshipped none but Allah. The oppressor king of that time forced people to worship false deity. Those few Muslims went to the mountains and took refuge in a cave to protect their Faith of Islam! They slept there and remained sleeping for 309 years. Then they woke up and thought that they had slept for a day or less. They sent one of them with a coin to the city to go carefully and buy halaal (lawful) food. As he reached the city and gave the coin in a shop to pay for food, the shopkeeper was astonished as the coin belonged to the time/era which passed hundreds of years ago. The shopkeeper asked him about the ancient coin and he told him their story of running away from the cruel oppressor king and taking refuge in a cave in which they slept. So the people and government were informed and they all followed him to the cave to prove the truth of his story! In the mountains they saw the sleepers of the cave and the story was confirmed.

This story happened in Asia far away from Arabia and the people in Arabia didn't know anything about it. So the jews gave questions about the As-haabi Kahf, Musa and Khidar alaihim salaam and Dhul-Qarnain to the idolaters to ask from Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam. These questions were asked to prove the truth of the prophet-hood of Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam. Allah revealed all the answers to the questions in the surah Al-Kahf.

Now the story of the sleepers of the cave is a true story found in the history of the Jews and Christians! So it is a true story!!!

My question is:

Who kept those people alive in the cave for 309 years?

Why they didn't die due to dehydration and malnutrition?

Who made them wake up in normal state of health and clothes?

Does it not astonish that during 309 years no change had happened in their health /body or their clothes???

So This is Allah, the All-Mighty God who kept them sleeping and alive in good health and the same normal clothes for 309 years and then made them wake up for proving the truth of the Resurrection Day.

O mankind Allah is the Only One God, Creator and Lord, and we and you all are returning unto HIM!!! You and we shall all be accounted and recompensed on the Day of Resurrection!!!

Allah All-Mighty said in surah Al-Qasas verses 71—73 (their translation is):

(28:71) (O Prophet), tell them: "Did you consider: if Allah were to make the night perpetual over you till the Day of Judgement, is there a god other than Allah who can bring forth light for you? Do you not hear?"

(28:72) Say: "Did you consider: if Allah were to make the day become perpetual over you till the Day of Judgement, is there a god other than Allah who can bring in night for you that you may repose in it? Will you not see?"

(28:73) It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you night and day that you may repose (during the night) and seek His Bounty (during the day) that you might be grateful.

So there are numerous signs of the Existence and Greatness of All-Mighty God Allah in the universe and you and we all pass and go among and around them but there are a few people who use their wisdom and ponder over them!!! Human beings should not behave like animals, rather they should use their mind and wisdom and they must think about the great signs of the Existence and Greatness of Allah Ta’aala!!!

Can any person in this world use any type of Power to stop the regular cycle of the day and night???

Have you ever thought how Kind and Merciful is Allah, The Creator and Controller of everything? See Allah made the cycle of day and night for the comfort of all creatures in general and for the rest and comfort of mankind in special!!!

Think about sleep! No scientist including medical doctors could explain the phenomenon of sleep!!! You keep on lying in a comfortable bed for the whole night but without sleep you will become tired and extremely bored! You will not feel comfort although you are lying in bed! But if you sleep only for 2 hours with the Mercy of Allah, insha-Allah you will enjoy it a lot and will feel refresh to work again!!!Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you deny?

Allah Ta’aala said in surah Az-Zumar verse 6 (the translation is):

(39:6) He it is Who created you from a single being, and He it is Who made from it its mate.
12 He it is Who created for you eight heads of cattle in pairs.13He creates you in your mothers' wombs, giving you one form after another in threefold depths of darkness.14 That, then, is Allah, your Lord.15 His is the kingdom.16 There is no god but He.17 So, whence are you being turned astray?18

Exp. note 14----18:

14. The three dark veils are: the belly, the womb and the caul or membrane enclosing the fetus.

15. “Your Lord”: your Master, Ruler and Providence.

16. That is, all powers and authority rest with Him and it is He Who is ruling over the whole Universe.

17. In other words, the reasoning is this: When Allah alone is your Lord and His is the sovereignty, then inevitably your Deity also is He. How can another be your deity when he has neither any share in providence nor any role in sovereignty? After all, how can it be reasonable for you to take others as your deities when Allah alone is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, when Allah alone has subjected the sun and the moon for you, when He alone brings the day after the night and the night after the day, and when He alone is your own Creator and Lord as well as of all animals and cattle?

18. These words need deep consideration. It has not been said: “How are you turning away?” but “How are you turned away?” That is, there is someone else who is misleading you, and being thus deceived you do not understand such a simple and reasonable thing. The other thing which by itself becomes evident from the style is: The word “you” is not addressed to the agents but to those who were turning away under their influence. There is a subtle point in this which can be understood easily after a little thought. Those who were working to turn away others (from the right way) were present in the same society and were doing whatever they could openly and publicly. Therefore, there was no need to mention them by name. It was also useless to address them, for they were trying to turn away the people from the service of Allah, the One, and entrapping them for the service of others, and keeping them entrapped for selfish motives. Obviously, such people could not be made to see reason by argument, for it lay in their own interest not to understand and see reason, and even after understanding they could hardly be inclined to sacrifice their interests. However, the condition of the common people who were being deceived and cheated was certainly pitiable. They had no interest involved in the business; therefore, they could be convinced by reasoning and argument, and after a little understanding they could also see what advantages were being gained by those who were showing them the way to other deities, after turning them away from Allah. That is why the address has been directed to the common people, who were being misguided rather than those few who were misguiding them.
***********************************************

I hope that you read the verses and their exp. notes 14—18. Here I want you to focus particularly on the following point:

The Holy Quraan says that Allah creates all human beings in three darknesses in the womb of mothers and gives to a fetus different forms one after the other!!!

As you know the Holy Quraan was revealed more than 1400 years ago. At that time there were no surgical and obstetrical developments. People knew nothing about the stages of the fetal development. They didn’t know exactly the position of fetus in the mother’s abdomen!!! Now due to scientific development and especially by the discoveries of medical science, we see that the words of the Holy Quraan are very true!!! We understand that Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam couldn’t give such wonderful knowledge by himself. Also at that time none of the mankind could inform him about such wonderful things!!! Then my question is;

Who, other than the Creator Allah, gave Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam this excellent, wonderful knowledge???

Surely, Allah gave Him the verses of the Holy Quraan. Thus Allah, the Great Sovereign, does exist and is One, Single and Unique God.

Allah said in the verse 164 of the Surah Al-Baqarah (Its English translation is);

(2:164) (To guide) those who use their reason (to this Truth) there are many Signs in the structure of the heavens and the earth, in the constant alternation of night and day, in the vessels which speed across the sea carrying goods that are of profit to people, in the water which Allah sends down from the sky and there by quickens the earth after it was dead, and disperse over it all manner of animals, and in the changing courses of the winds and the clouds pressed into service between heaven and earth.162
Exp. note162:

162. If a man were to observe the constant operation of this universe, reflect on it in a manner befitting a rational being, and think about it without either stubbornness or bias, he would find sufficient signs to convince him that this gigantic system is absolutely subservient to the will of the Omnipotent and Wise Being, Who alone wields all power and authority. Moreover, this system seems to be such as to rule out all possibility of any interference from others whether independent of the Creator of the universe or in partnership with Him. Since this One True God is the Lord of all creation and none else is in possession of any power or authority, none is entitled to any share in His godhead or over lordship. ************************************************** ***********************************

The verse is well explained in the exp. note 162.
There are numerous signs of the Existence as well as of the Greatness of Allah Ta’aala in our body and surrounding. The condition to benefit from these Signs is that we must use our mind and shouldn’t pass on them as animals.

A few months ago I was watching the Orient news in Arabic. America had struck fire bombs in a city in Syria! - Flames were rising high in a large area! Two old men were standing there, one of them had his hands raised in supplication, was praying to Allah to destroy America! A tall big man was lying in the flames. His eyes were closed and he was fully covered with the fire. It seemed like he was sleeping. The astonishing thing was that the fire was not burning him! His face, body, shirt, and pants were all safe and nothing had caught fire although the flames were covering him and a large area around him!!

I thought, “What was protecting his body and clothes from catching fire and burning? Why were his eyes, face, hands, full body and clothes fully safe???”

I thought he might be a haafiz of the Holy Quraan because I heard that the body of a haafizul-Quraan doesn’t decay after death!!! This is only my thought but I don’t know exactly. However it is certainly the work of none except Allah to keep his clothes and body fully safe and secure in the midst of fire!!! Indeed, in this miraculous scene, there is a great sign of the Existence and Greatness of a Supreme Being Who has Power and Control over all things!!! That Supreme Being is Allah All-Mighty!!!

Ibraheem alaihi salaam was thrown by the idolaters in a huge fire but Allah made the fire cool on him. This is a true story i.e. something that truly happened. I believe that this story of Ibraheem alaihi salaam will be present in Tawrah and Bible. In the Holy Quraan, Allah Ta’aala said in surah al-anbiyaa verses 51…70, here is the English translation:

51. And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing

52. When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"

53. They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them."

54. He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error."

55. They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?"

56. He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.

57. And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away."

58. So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question].

59. They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers."

60. They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham."

61. They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify."

62. They said, "Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham?"

63. He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak."

64. So they returned to [blaming] themselves and said [to each other], "Indeed, you are the wrongdoers."

65. Then they reversed themselves, [saying], "You have already known that these do not speak!"

66. He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?

67. Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allah . Then will you not use reason?"

68. They said, "Burn him and support your gods - if you are to act."

69. We (Allah) said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham."

70. And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers.

************************************************** *********************************

The idolaters had thrown him in the fire because ibraheem alaihi salaam had preached to them to worship only One God Allah. Then, to give them a lesson, Ibraheem alaihi salaam broke their false deities which consisted of statues. So to punish him (alaihi salaam) they prepared such a huge fire that they couldn’t go near it due to burning heat in the surrounding of the fire! Thus they had to do special arrangement to throw ibraheem alaihi salaam into it. It is said that they had prepared a swing and made ibraheem alaihi salaam sit on it. Then they pushed the swing forcefully so that He alaihi salaam reached the center of the fire.

Then who saved the prophet Ibraheem alaihi salaam from the burning fire? None but Allah who ordered the fire to become cool and safe for Ibraheem alaihi salaam. Surely, in this story there is a sign of the existence and greatness of Allah Azza wa Jall.

In the surah Al-Nabaa (An-Nabaa) Allah All-Mighty made us attentive to many signs in this universe, the great signs that prove the Existence and Greatness of Allah Azzah wa Jall.

Here is the translation of the verse 13 of the surah Al-Nabaa with the explanatory note 10. After that is given a part of the exp.note 11. Please read and think, then take admonition:

(78:13) and placed therein a hot, shining lamp,10

Exp.note 10

10. A bright, blazing lamp: the sun. The word wahhaj used for the sun means both intensely hot and intensely bright. Hence our rendering. In this brief sentence, allusion has been made to a most wonderful and glorious sign of Allah Almighty’s power and wisdom which the sun is. Its diameter is 109 times that of the earth’s and its size more than 333,000 times that of the earth’s. Its temperature is 14,000,000°C. In spite of shining 93,000,000 miles away from the earth, its light and brightness is dazzling, and man can look at it with the naked eye only at the risk of losing his eye-sight. As for its heat, temperature in some parts of the earth reaches 140°F because of its radiation. It is only Allah Who by His wisdom has placed the earth at the right distance from it, neither it is too hot for being close to it, nor too cold for being very far away from it. For this very reason life of man, animal and vegetable became possible on it. Measureless treasures of energy from it are reaching the earth and sustaining life. It helps ripen our crops to provide sustenance to every creature; its heat causes vapors to rise from the seas, which spread to different parts of the earth by means of the winds and fall as rain. In the sun Allah has kindled such a mighty furnace that has been constantly radiating light, heat and different kinds of rays throughout the entire solar system since millions and millions of years.

************************************************** ************************************************** *************************

Part of exp. note 11:

After presenting a number of the signs and testimonies, one after the other, in these verses, the deniers of the Resurrection and Hereafter have been exhorted, so as to say: If you consider the earth and the mountains and your own creation, your sleep and wakefulness, and the system of the day and night intelligently, and consider the well-fortified system of the universe and the shining sun in the heavens, the rain falling from the clouds and the vegetables growing thereby, you will see two things very clearly: first, that all this could neither come into existence without a mighty power, nor continue to exist and function so regularly; second, that in each of these, great wisdom is working and nothing that happens here is purposeless. Now, only a foolish person could say that the Being Who by His power has brought these things into existence, does not have the power to destroy them and create them once again in some other form, and this also could be said only by an unreasonable person that the Wise Being Who has not done anything without purpose in this universe, has given to man in His world understanding and intelligence, discrimination between good and evil, freedom to obey or disobey, and powers of appropriation over countless of His creatures, without any purpose and design: whether man uses and employs the things granted by Him in the right way or the wrong way, it does not make any difference; whether man continues to do good throughout life till death, he will end up in the dust, or continues to do evil till death, he will likewise end up in the dust. Neither the virtuous man will receive any reward for the good deeds nor the bad man will be held accountable for his evil deeds. These very arguments for life after death and Resurrection and Hereafter have been given here and there in the Quran, e.g. see E.N. 7 of Surah Ar-Raad; E.N. 9 of Surah Al-Hajj; E.N. 6 of Surah Ar-Room; E.Ns 10, 12 of Surah Saba; E.Ns 8, 9 of Surah As-Saaffat.

Surah Yoonus verses 22 and 23:

(Surah 10, Verse 22) He it is Who enables you to journey through the land and the sea. And so it happens that when you have boarded the ships and they set sail with a favourable wind, and the passengers rejoice at the pleasant voyage, then suddenly a fierce gale appears, and wave upon wave surges upon them from every side, and people believe that they are surrounded from all directions, and all of them cry out to Allah in full sincerity of faith: 'If You deliver us from this we shall surely be thankful.31

Explanation of verse 22 (Exp.note 31):
31. The fact that even the most obdurate mushriks and the most hardened atheists who forget Allah when things go well with them, begin to invoke Allah’s help when they are pressed hard from all sides and despair of help from any other quarter, is a clear evidence that there is the All Powerful Allah Who is controlling each and every thing in the universe. Refer to (E.N. 29, Surah Al-Anaam).

(Surah 10, Verse 23) But no sooner than He delivers them than they go about committing excesses on the earth, acting unjustly. Men ! The excesses you commit will be of harm only to yourselves, (Enjoy, if you will) the fleeting pleasure of this world; in the end you shall all return to Us, and then We shall tell you what you did.

Surah Yoonus verses 31 and 32 with the exp.notes

(10:31) Ask them: 'Who provides you with sustenance out of the heavens and the earth? Who holds mastery over your hearing and sight? Who brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living? Who governs all affairs of the universe?' They will surely say: 'Allah.' Tell them: 'Will you, then, not shun (going against reality)?"

(10:32) Such, then, is Allah, your true Lord.38 And what is there after truth but error? How, then, are you being turned away?39

Exp. note 38 and 39:

38. That is, as you yourselves admit that Allah alone is your real Provider, Owner and Master, He alone is your true Lord, and, therefore, entitled to your servitude and worship. How have you, then, made others as partners with Him?

39. It should be kept in mind that these questions have been posed to the common people: therefore they are not being asked, “How are you turning away?” but “How are you turned away” The passive voice clearly shows that there must be some person (or persons) who was turning away the people from the right direction to the wrong one. That is why this appeal is being made to the people: Why are you blindly following those who are misguiding you? Why don’t you use your own common sense? When you yourselves admit the truth about Allah, why don’t you consider the fact that you are being turned away from Him?

This question has been posed at many places in the Quran to bring home the truth to the common people, but at every place the passive voice has been employed in order to keep back the names of the misguiding ones so that their followers should consider the matter coolly and objectively. This also contains a valuable piece of advice for those engaged in propagation work. By avoiding the names of the misguiding ones, the Quran has taken away a very strong weapon from the hands of those, who could otherwise incite the followers that their revered leaders were being made the target of ridicule and criticism.

Surah Yoonus verse 88 to verse 92:

88. And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment."

89. [ Allah ] said, "Your supplication has been answered." So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know."

90. And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

91. Now? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters?

92. So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless

************************************************** ************************************************** ****

The cursed bodies of Pharaoh and his soldiers are preserved in the pyramids of Egypt. This is astonishing to see that who made those strong pyramids and who took all those bodies from the bottom of the sea to those pyramids? But Allah's Promise became true and Pharaoh's and his soldiers' bodies are preserved for all rulers, kings and chiefs to take lesson. The story of Pharaoh is repeated many times in short and long surahs of the Holy Quraan so that the chiefs of all nations, particularly, those of the Muslim countries may take lesson and improve their ways. But alas! The present circumstances show that almost none cares about such signs!!!

Surah Al-Nahal verses 66 to 69 give great signs of Allah’s Existence and Tawheed. Here is their translation with the explanatory notes.

Surah Al-Nahl verse 66:

(16:66) Surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We provide you to drink out of that which is in their bellies between the faeces and the blood - pure milk
54 - which is a palatable drink for those who take it.

Exp. note 54

54. “Between excretions and the blood”. This refers to the most wonderful process of the formation of pure milk in the bellies of the cattle. For, the fodder they eat turns into blood, filth and pure milk, which is altogether different from the first two in its nature, color and usefulness. Some cattle produce milk in such abundance that after suckling their young ones a large quantity of it is left to make excellent human food.
************************************************** *******

Surah Al-Nahl verse 67:

(16:67) And out of the fruits of date-palms and grapes you derive intoxicants as well as wholesome sustenance.
55 Surely there is a sign for those who use reason.

Exp. note 55

55. Incidentally it implies that the juice of the fruits of date palms and vines contains two things. One is that which is pure and wholesome food for man and the other is that which turns into alcohol after it becomes rotten. But it has been left to the choice of man to obtain pure healthy food from this providence or to drink it as intoxicant wine to excite him and make him lose his self control. This also contains a hint as to the prohibition of wine.
************************************************** ********

Surah Al-Nahl verse 68:

(16:68) Your Lord inspired the bee,
56 saying: "Set up hives in the mountains and in the trees and in the trellises that people put up,

Exp. note 56:

56. The lexical meaning of the Arabic word wahi is secret inspiration which is felt only by the one who inspires and the other who is inspired with. The Quran has used this word both for the instinctive inspiration by Allah to His creation in general and for the revelation towards His Prophets in particular. Allah sends His wahi to the heavens with His command and they begin functioning in accordance with it (Surah Al-Momin, Ayat 12). He will send this to the earth with His command and it will relate the story of all that had happened on and in it. He sends wahi to the bee and inspires it with faculties to perform the all of its wonderful work instinctively (Ayat 68). The same is true of the bird that learns to fly, the fish that learns to swim, the newly born child that learns to suck milk, etc. Then, it is also wahi with which Allah inspires a human being with a spontaneous idea (Surah Al-Qasas, Ayat 7). The same is the case with all the great discoveries, inventions, works of literature and art, etc. which would not have been possible without the benefit of wahi. As a matter of fact, every human being at one time or the other feels its mental or spiritual influence in the form of an idea or thought or plan or dream, which is confirmed by a subsequent experience to be the right guidance from the unseen wahi.

Then there is the wahi (revelation) which is the privilege of the Prophets. This form of wahi has its own special features and is quite distinct from all other forms. The Prophet, who is inspired with it, is fully conscious and has his firm conviction that it is being sent down from Allah. Such a revelation contains doctrines of creed, commandments, laws, regulations and instructions for the guidance of mankind.
************************************************** ********************

Surah Al-Nahl verse 69:

(16:69) then suck the juice of every kind of fruit and keep treading the ways of your Lord
57 which have been made easy." There comes forth from their bellies a drink varied in colours, wherein there is healing for men.58 Verily there is a sign in this for those who reflect.59

Exp. note 57:

57. “Follow the ways of your Lord” means work in accordance with the methods which have been taught to the bees by Allah’s wahi for the smooth running of hive life. It is Allah’s wahi (instinctive inspiration) that has taught the bees how to build their wonderful factory with separate combs to rear breed, combs to turn nectar into honey, combs to store food, in short, separate combs to fulfill every aspect of hive life. It is wahi that has taught the bees how to organize themselves into a cooperative society for collective effort to run the factory with the queen and thousands of workers to perform a variety of specific tasks. All these things have been made so smooth for them by wahi that the bees never feel the necessity of ever thinking about it. They have been running smoothly their factory with their collective effort for thousands of years with perfect accuracy.

58. Though honey is a wholesome food with a sweet taste and has medicinal power as well, its latter quality has been mentioned only because the former is too obvious. It is used as a medicine to cure several diseases because it contains the juice and glucose of flowers and fruits in the best form. Besides this, it is also used in preparing and preserving other medicines because it does not rot. It also preserves other things from decay. That is why it has been used for centuries as a substitute for alcohol. And if the beehive is built at a place, which abounds in certain medicinal herbs, its honey does not remain mere honey, but becomes also the essence of that herb. It is expected that if bees are used methodically for extracting essence from herbs, that essence will prove to be much better than the one obtained in the laboratories.

59. This passage (Ayats 48-69) contains proofs of Tauhid and life after death. These were necessitated, for the disbelievers and the mushriks were bitterly opposed to the Prophet (peace be upon him) mainly because of these two doctrines. The acceptance of the first doctrine demolished the whole system of life based on shirk or atheism because to acknowledge Allah to be the sole Provider, the Helper and the Protector left no room for the worship of any god or goddess. The proof of Tauhid is based on the observance of the structure of the cattle, the bees, the date palms and vineyards and their usefulness to mankind. Naturally the question arises: Who has designed these in the manner and for the purpose they have been created? The only obvious answer is that it is the All-Wise and All-Beneficent Allah Who has designed all these things for the benefit of mankind to produce such varieties of food that are so wholesome and so tasty. The Prophet, therefore, rightly demanded: When you yourselves admit, and you cannot but admit, that it is Allah alone Who has provided milk, honey, dates, grapes and the like, He and none but He is worthy of your worship, praise, gratitude and allegiance. Why do you then insist on making offerings to yourself made gods and goddesses?

The second doctrine to which the disbelievers took strong objection was that there is surely the life after death. They were against this doctrine for its acceptance changed the whole moral system and they were not prepared to change their immoral ways. Their objection was based on the presumption that it was impossible to bring to life anyone after death.

They have been asked to observe that the barren land, which once had been covered with vegetable life, was again covered with it after rainfall and they have been watching such repetition of life year after year. That Allah, Who could so easily bring to life the dead vegetable, could do the same and bring to life all the dead without any difficulty at all.

In the following verses of the surah Ghaafir there are some of the great signs of Allah Azza wa Jall.
Surah Ghaafir has two names: Ghaafir and Al-Mo'min.

Surah Ghaafir (Surah Al-Mo’min) verse 64:

(40:64) Allah it is Who made the earth a dwelling place for you
89 and made the sky a canopy,90 Who shaped you and shaped you exceedingly well and gave you good things as sustenance.91 That is Allah, your Lord; blessed is Allah, the Lord of the Universe.

Exp. notes :

89. For explanation, see (Surah An-Naml, Ayat 61 and E.N. 74 )on it.

90. That is, you have not been exposed to outer space so that heavenly calamities should rain on you and annihilate you completely, but We have built over the earth a fully fortified celestial system (which appears like a dome to the eye), which does not allow any destructive element to reach you; so much so that even the destructive cosmic rays cannot reach you and that is how you are living peacefully on the earth.

91. That is, We had provided for you such a safe and peaceful place of rest even before your creation. Then We created you and gave you a fine body with most appropriate limbs and physical and mental powers of a high caliber. You did not create this erect stature, these hands and feet, these eyes and nose and ears, this talking tongue and this brain, which is a treasure-house of great capabilities, nor were these created by your mother and father, nor a prophet, or a saint, or a god had the power to create them. Their Maker and Creator was the All-Wise, All-Merciful, All-Mighty Sovereign, Who created Man with this wonderful body to function in the world, when He decided to bring him into being. Then as soon as you were created, you found by His beneficence a vast table laid out with pure provisions containing items of pure food which is not poisonous but health-giving, which is not bitter and tasteless but tasty, which is not rotten and stale and stinking but good smelling, which is not lifeless dregs but rich in vitamins and useful organic substances, so essential for the proper development and nourishment of your body. Who has provided in such abundance this water, and corn, vegetables, fruits, milk, honey, meat and condiments, which not only add relish to your food but also provide you vitality and pleasures of life? And who has made the arrangements that these measureless granaries of food should go on coming out from the earth endlessly and their supply should never fail? Just consider this: What would have become of life if there had been no arrangement of food and man had been brought into existence suddenly? Is this not a clear proof that Your Creator is not merely a Creator but is an All-Wise Creator and All-Merciful Lord? (For further explanation, see (Surah Houd, Ayat 6); (Surah An-Naml, Ayats 60-66) and the E.Ns thereof):
***********************************************

Think about the creative power of Allah. How many faces are there on the earth with the same structures like two eyes, one nose, a mouth with two lips etc. But all faces are so much different from each other that everyone is clearly recognized from the other. Surely, in this creation of Allah there is a great sign of Allah’s Greatness and Excellence. Then Allah All-Mighty has placed a type of resemblance in the faces of brothers and sisters. All these abilities belong to none but Allah azza wa jall.

Surah Ghaafir (Al-Mo’min) verse 65:

(40:65) He is the Ever-Living:
92 there is no god but He. So call upon Him, consecrating to Him all your devotion.93 All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the whole Universe.94

Exp. Notes:

92. That is, His is the real and true life. He only is living by virtue of His own power. No one else has the eternal and everlasting life but Him. All others have borrowed and temporary life, which is destined to death and perishable.
93. For explanation, see (E.Ns 3, 4 of Surah Az-Zumar).
94. That is, there is none else the hymns of whose praise may be sung and who may be thanked.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the merciful

See the translation of the following verses of the surah Al-Naml (An-Naml):

17. And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows.

18. Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, a she- ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

19. So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

************************************************** ******

Please note the following points:

1. The surah is named as “The Ant”,

2. The ants knew Sulaimaan alaihi salaam,

3. Their leader was a she-ant,

4. She ordered the ants to enter their holes for their protection from the armies of Sulaimaan alaihi salaam who were marching there and it was possible that the ants would get crushed under their feet unknowingly.

5. Sulaimaan alaihi salaam heard the speech of the she-ant and understood it by the GRACE of Allah All-Mighty, and he paid thanks to Allah,

6. Modern science has discovered the fact that the ants live in communities and they are ruled by a she-ant called “the queen”.

This is the Scientific Miracle of the Holy Quraan which is truly a Book of Allah. Allah has guided all animals and birds to live in communities and then gave Sulaimaan alaihi salaam the knowledge of their languages so that he could understand them and talk to them. Surely, there are great signs of Allah in such happenings.

An-Naml would mean male ant or any ant (regardless of male or female - like we sometimes generally say dog instead of bit@h), whereas an-Namlah is specifically she-ant.

Went to eid namaz today... debatable..

The imam was talking about taqwa as.. obedience to allah swt.

Which is not really how i look at the word normally.

...allah swt raises and lowers as he wills.

...mankind is insolence and competition.

It is a strange paradox.

If you dont see it that way count yourself lucky.

..and when you finally do see it, hope your counted among those that carry favour.

It means what Allah means by it, so the best thing to do is to sincerely try to understand what Allah wants in obedience to Him whilst being aware that He is sifting the thoughts finely.

No, i dont know what it means? Or what was meant by it?

But to the imam it meant obedience.

And praying six times that day rather than five.

...probably..

Because thats what he said.

Im sure there is more to it than that.

But you know, ultimately.. if the answer holds no value to allah swt..

Whats the point?

And thats about it from here..

God knows why you said it then......

.... isn't it a primary formula taught to a person who accepts the truth that it is wise to sincerely and truthfully clarify the actual truth with justice and detail if there is a need to blot out something? (Unless you really think someone's trolling and/or trying to waste your time and effort without valid just cause).

No god except God - Muhammad is the messenger of God.

One blot to the false and a fact to clarify the truth - and another link to clarify the truth in more detail.

Here is a good description of taqwa:

Taqwa involves many aspects of being very strongly guarded and carefully mindful - but can usually be generally boiled down for the sake of brevity with some detail to "being strongly mindful of Allah and guarded from His wrath in this world, and in the hereafter" - in absence of clear context. This is human speech used for the sake of proper communication and a clear understanding between people - haven't we gone through enough lessons on deception in order to update our wisdom databases?

I'm not sure but it may also have a relationship with quwwah (strength) although i am not an expert on Arabic and am only trying to clarify to the best of my reasonable ability.

Let's look at the word kaafir and for instance, in order to comprehend further:

I have edited a piece I found on the web for the sake of better comprehension.

The Arabic root k-f-r (كَفَرَ)...... is a root, 17 forms occur 510 (!) times in the Qur’an. The root has several meanings and most of them have to do with: to redact/censor/stifle/hide/cover-up/bury/reject....

It is an old Semitic root that is found in Hebrew as well, some say also in Nabataean.

Let us have a look at some examples of how the root is used in the arabic language:

He covered the sown seed with earth.

كَفَرَ الْبَذْرَ الْمَبْذُورَ

The clouds covered the sky.

كَفَرَ السُّحابُ السَّماءَ

A dark night. (“lail kāfir” is a classical Arabic term.)

لَيْل كافِر

Mukaffar is the passive participle of كَفَّرَ and used to describe a bird covered with feathers.

مُكَفَّر

Since its original meaning is to cover, the term Kāfir (كافِر), in pre-Is-lamic times, was also used to denote a sower or a tiller of the ground – because he covers the seed with earth.

This is important when Muslims want to fully understand the Qur’an. Many Muslims, also native Arabic speakers, think that the word Kāfir only means unbeliever (possibly due to it's regular use in contrast to and alongside "mu-min" (believer/faithful).

Let’s have a look at a verse of sura 57 The Iron – in Arabic: al-Hadīd (سُورة الْحَدِيد) – in which Kāfir does not mean unbeliever, but tiller/sower:

57:20

Bear in mind that the present life is just a game, a diversion, an attraction, a cause of boasting among you, of rivalry in wealth and children. It is like plants that spring up after the rain: their growth at first delights the sowers, but then you see them wither away, turn yellow, and become stubble. There is ter-rible punishment in the next life as well as for-giveness and approval from God; the life of this world is only an illusory/deceitful pleasure.

The following verse clearly demonstrates that the general context when provided without detail - is "rejector/denier of Allah"

48:29. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. and those who are with him are strong against KUFFAAR, (but) compassionate amongst each other. You will see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure.
On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurah;
and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the deniers of Allah (KUFFAAR) with rage at them.
Allah has promised those among them who have faith and do righteous deeds - forgiveness, and a great Reward.

Here is an example of how it can simply mean "rejection" when used in clear unambiguous context:

There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone":
Except when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah."
(They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal.

004:060 Khan
:
Have you seen those (hyprocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Taghut (false judges, etc.) while they have been ordered to (YAKFUROO) reject them. But Shaitan (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray.

The sentence he/she rejected/denied Allah (كَفَرَ بِاللّهِ) can be inter-preted as follows: Someone denies Allah because he conceals or covers the truth of Allah. Even in the Qur’an, a metaphorical meaning of to cover in the sense of to deny/reject is found.

It is a verse in sura 5 The Feast/The Table Spread – in Arabic: al-Mā’ida (سُورة الْمائِدة) – which talks about the Christians. Christians belong to the People of the Book – in Arabic: ’Ahl al-Kitāb (أَهْل الْكِتاب). Muslims use this term for Jews and Christi-ans. From an Islamic perspective, Christians literally cover/deny unjustly the knowledge that a prophet (= Muhammad) will come after Jesus.

Let’s look at the verse:

5:17

The have denied (= have denied Allah). who say, ‘God is the Messiah, the son of Mary’,

لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ

Some more remarks:

The Arabic word Kafr (كَفْر) can also mean village. It is a Syr-ian word and mostly used in Syria and Egypt.

The English word Kaffir has Arabic roots. Kaffir (Kaffer in Afrikaans) is an insulting term for a black African used in South Africa. The history of this word most probably goes back to the Islamic conquest of East Africa.

Some native peoples there believed in several gods, and therefore the Muslims called them Kāfir. Eng-lish missionaries picked it up to denounce the Bantu people in South Africa. This happened possibly in the middle of the 18th century.

Later, the expression was generally used in English and Dutch (Afrikaans) for South African blacks. (In this context) It is a racist term.

We can see clearly that -in absence of clear context, kufr can be generally boiled down to "rejection and denial of Allah".

Hope that helps in clarifying the confusing remarks.

Yeah, that was nice..

Im not really big on misusing arabic words, so i dont often use them..

But its always nicer to know.

I think the knowledge of "quote fingers "god awareness" quote fingers" is something universal..

And have seen it described often (hmm..maybe not often) in people who label themselves other than muslim..

Even some athiests.

It is.. a strange time for labels.

May allah swt have mercy upon us and give time to change.

Hopefully without transgressing limits.

..although this is from afar, i have no idea how they are irl.

..probably really clever.

*Edit..

I watched the video..

I agree to a certain extent. The moral of the story is sound..

Most battles are won and lost long before any battlefield is reached..

The greater and lesser jihad.

Ayatul qursi also.

But he relates the story to what is happening in muslim countries at present..

And many.. paradoxes arise.. in my mind anyway.

I only have choice in the situations that play out before me..

I am not the planner and as many situations go..

I already told you how i think.

What came first? The chicken or the egg?

Only allah swt knows what is before them and what is after them..

Proceeds or follows.. whatever, i have no idea.

I only serve. Its always 100%

The Arabic verse says:

"Qaalat namlatun" ("She ant said").

Namal=ant (male ant)

Namlah /namlatun = she ant.

Also the verb "qaalat" means "she said" while for a male ant the verb must be "Qaala" (he said).

This point is sorrowful that our translators feel ashamed by saying clearly that "she ant said". They didn't realize the fact that Allah is the Greatest and All-Knowing, and Allah is the Creator. They should have had blind faith in Allah's Knowledge and must have given the correct translation. Now science has discovered the fact that ants live in communities and their leader is a she ant called "queen". She passes orders.

Taqwa is the siffah (quality) while muttaqee is the mosoof (the one who has the quality of taqwa). If you focus on the word muttaqee in the Holy Quraan you will see that a muttaqee has many great qualities and mostly it is muttaqee whom Allah has mentioned as a dweller of Paradise. Shortly we can say in our own words that a muttaqee is a Muslim who guards himself /herself against any disobedience to Allah, He/she fears Allah a lot and always tries to be obedient to Allah's Commands. So generally speaking taqwa means obedience to Allah and Allah's Messenger Muhammad salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam.

For detailed meaning of taqwah you can see many places in the Holy Quraan where Allah has given the qualities of muttaqeen. For e.g. I will remind only two places in the surah Al-Baqarah:

2. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -

3. Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,

4. And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

5. Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

(Surah Al-Baqarah verses 2--5)

in the verses 2--4 the qualities of taqwa/muttaqeen are underlined. In the verse 5 is mentioned their reward in Paradise.

(2:177) Righteousness does not consist in turning your faces towards the east or towards the west;175 true righteousness consists in believing in Allah and the Last Day, the angels, the Book and the Prophets, and in giving away one’s wealth in love of Him to one’s kinsmen, the orphans, the poor and the wayfarer, and to those who ask for help, and in freeing the necks of slaves, and in establishing Prayer and dispensing the Zakah. True righteousness is attained by those who are faithful to their promise once they have made it and by those who remain steadfast in adversity and affliction and at the time of battle (between Truth and falsehood). Such are the truthful ones; such are the God-fearing.

(Surah Al-Baqarah verse 177)

Here taqwa is given the name righteousness and all the qualities are present in this verse 177 of the surah Al-Baqarah. In the end of this verse the word "Muttaqoon" is translated into "the God-Fearing" so here taqwa means God-fearing.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Please see the translation of the verses 20 –25 of the surah Al-Naml (An-Naml):

20. And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?

21. I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."

22. But the hoopoe stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

23. Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

24. I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,

25. [And] so they do not prostrate to Allah, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -

26. Allah - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."

************************************************** ***********************

Please note the following points:

1. The Prophet Sulaimaan alaihi salaam had rule over the birds too,

2. Birds know that Allah is the Only One God and we all must worship only Allah,

3. When human beings become stupid and worship the things created by Allah the birds understand their sins and feel sorry for them,

4. Sulaimaan alaihi salaam was informed by a bird about the polytheism (shirk) of the nation of Sabaa which was ruled by a queen.

5. After reading the verses 25 and 26 of the surah Al-Naml (An-Naml) we must do sajdah (prostration) to Allah All-Mighty.

Allah is the Creator of all, and is the only One God. All creatures worship only Allah. But the wise creation i.e. mankind divided into many nations, some worship Allah while others got deceived by Satan and chose others than Allah for their worship. They do not use their wise mind to differentiate between right and wrong and thus become punishable forever!

In this colorful world, most of the beauty is due to many different colors. Read the translation of the following verses:
Surah Faatir verses 27 and 28 with the explanatory notes;

(35:27).Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black.

(35; 28). And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.

Exp. note 47 from tafheem.net (Dawat ul Quraan)

This difference in colors shows Allah’s extreme Power that whatever He has created , He has presented in it a variety of samples. So that seeing them man’s mind may turn to Allah and Allah’s Greatness. If this universe were Godless, then there would not be such variation and beauty in it. And if His Power were limited then there would not be such diversity in creation.
************************************************** ********

Exp.notes 48---50 from tafheem.net (towards understanding Quraan)

48.This is meant to impress that in the universe created by Allah nowhere is there homogeneity and uniformity; there is variety everywhere. From the same earth and by the same water different kinds of trees are appearing. Even the two pieces of the fruit of the same tree are not uniform in color, size and taste. In the same mountain one will see a variety of colors and a great difference in the material composition of its different parts. Even among human beings and animals one will not see two offspring of the same parents exactly alike. If a person seeks uniformity of the temperaments and dispositions and mentalities in this universe and is bewildered at the differences which have been alluded to in( verses 19-22)above, it will be his own perception and understanding to blame. This same variety and difference, in fact, point to the reality that this universe has been created by a Wise Being with great wisdom; its Maker is a Unique Creator and a Matchless Fashioner, Who does not have the same model of everything before Him, but has a variety of countless and limitless designs of everything. Then if one ponders over the differences in human temperaments and minds, in particular, one will see that it is not a mere accident, but in fact the masterpiece of the wisdom of creation. If all human beings had been created with the uniform temperaments and desires and feelings and inclinations and ways of thinking, and no room had been left for any difference, it would have been absolutely useless to bring about a new creation like man in the world. When the Creator decided to bring into existence a responsible creation, a creation having power and authority, the necessary inevitable demand of the nature of the decision was that room for all sorts of differences should be provided in its nature and structure. This is the main proof of the fact that the creation of man is not the result of an accident, but the result of a wonderful and wise plan and design. And obviously, wherever there is a wise plan and design, there must necessarily be a Wise Being working behind it, for the existence of wisdom without a Wise Being would be un-imaginable.

49. That is, the more a person is unaware of the attributes of Allah, the more he will be fearless of Him. Contrary to this, the more a person is aware and conscious of Allah’s powers, His knowledge, His wisdom, His vengeance and His omnipotence and His other attributes, the more he will fear His disobedience. Thus, in fact, knowledge in this verse does not imply knowledge of academic subjects like philosophy and science and history and mathematics, etc. but the knowledge of divine attributes, no matter whether one is literate or illiterate. The one who is fearless of God is illiterate merely as regards to this knowledge even if he has all the knowledge of the world. And the one who knows the attributes of God and fears Him in his heart, is learned even if he is illiterate. In the same connection, one should also know that in this verse the ulama does not imply the scholars in the technical sense, who are termed as religious scholars because of their knowledge of the Quran and Hadith and Fiqh. They will prove true to this verse only when they possess fear of God in their hearts. The same thing has been said by Abdullah bin Masud, thus: Knowledge is not due to much narration of Hadith but due to much fear of Allah. And also by Hassan Basri, thus: The scholar is he who fears Allah though he has not seen Him, and turns to what is approved by Him and keeps away from what makes Him angry.

50. That is, He is All-Mighty, and therefore, can seize the disobedient as and when He likes: no one can escape His grasp. But He is All-Forgiving also and is, therefore, giving respite to the wrongdoers. ************************************************** ***************************

It is only Allah Who has not only created so many beautiful colors, but also has blessed human beings with color-vision for every color to enjoy the beauty of Allah's creation!

(I edited this post and will see now if the words don't get jumbled).

This Forum has technical issues so in posting, I face great difficulties. Now look at the above post, many words got jumbled up even in the verses of the Holy Quraan. So if this problem is not fixed the responsible people shall become sinners.

Sometimes i feel that the concept of god or my understanding of it is deeply flawed..

Simply based on other peoples experiences of life.

It only goes to say most people will be misguided.. wasted lives, although harshest in judgement.

It just feels like some sort of game.

Why would you invest in things so expendable?

This type of faith will not be acceptable. So you may claim to be a Muslim but you will be among the utter losers on the Day of Judgment. Our words must be very clear and straight. To be a true Muslim, you must stand on very strong ground of the faith of Islam and then there should be no power to move you from that faith.

Unfortunately, your words are also dangerous for the Muslims of weak faith. If any Muslim strays from the straight path of Islam due to your changing faith and contradictory words, then you will be punished for that too. thus you are seeking terrible darkness for yourself in the life Hereafter!!!

Read the translation of the following verses of surah Al-An'aam:

(6:40) Say: 'What do you think if some chastisement of Allah or the Hour suddenly overtakes you: Will you (then) cry to any other than Allah? Answer, if you speak the truth.

(6:41) Lo, it is to Him alone that you cry and then, if He so wills, He removes the distress for which you had cried to Him. Then you forget the partners you had set up with Allah.29

Exp. note 29:

29. Attention is now drawn towards another sign - one observable even in the lives of those who deny the Truth. When either some great calamity befalls a man or when death starkly stares him in the face, it is only to God that he turns for refuge. On such occasions even the staunchest polytheists forget their false gods and cry out to the One True God, and even the most rabid atheists stretch out their hands in prayer to Him. This phenomenon is mentioned here in order to draw an instructive lesson. It shows that devotion to God and monotheism are ingrained in the human soul. No matter how overlaid this truth might be, some day it shakes off man's heedlessness and ignorance and manifests itself fully. It was the observation of this sign which had led 'Ikrimah, the son of Abu Jahl, to the true faith. For when Makka was conquered at the hands of the Prophet (peace be on him), 'Ikrimah fled to Jeddah and sailed from there towards Abyssinia. During the voyage the boat ran into a severe storm which threatened to capsize it. At first people began calling on their gods and goddesses. Later on, when the storm grew even worse and the passengers were sure that the boat would sink, they began to feel it was time to call on God alone, for He alone could save them. This opened the eyes of 'Ikrimah, whose heart cried out to him that if there was no effective helper for them in that situation, how could there be one elsewhere? He also recalled that this was precisely what the Prophet (peace be on him) had constantly told people, and that it was precisely because of this preaching that they had been engaged in unnecessary violent conflict with him. This was a turning-point in 'Ikrimah's life. He instantly made up his mind that if he survived the storm he would go straight to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and place his hand in his, binding himself in allegiance. Thereafter he not only remained true to his word by becoming a Muslim, but spent the rest of his life struggling in the cause of Islam.

You are right..

Honestly i am already literally among the losers. I have to convince people that they still know me before any help is offered.. begrudgingly.

I am here to lose, make no mistake..

Allah swt raises and lowers as he wills.. and for every loser there will be winners.. seeking countenance and bounty.
..
..
I never really learned how to write for myself.

..like a dog without teeth.

Im not sure about the quran quote.. i don't really call upon anything else in name..

And i dont leave people with words in which i closed the door..

Strange days.

Ok heres one for you, because its summer..

Sahih International: O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued.

Pickthall: O mankind! A similitude is coined, so pay ye heed to it: Lo! those on whom ye call beside Allah will never create a fly though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly took something from them, they could not rescue it from it. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought!

...i would assume there are worse things out there than fly's.

You shouldnt have any fear of misguidance, i am not in a position to offer it..

Every day has a start and a finish.. maybe they pray.

Maybe its the land of the gun slinger.

But i wont be the one that writes his own tomorrow at the cost of others..

I simply am not able to.

Very hard to put into words.

..i had a rat as big as a cat, it was so smart..

IT put food on the mousetrap.

Sorry, i miss my family.. sometimes i can almost see there faces on the people..

But you cant really help when you are hungry.

More likely i betrayed my eyes long ago.

Im sorry please dont take offence, i cant really keep my thoughts together most of the time.. and if it doesn't make sense there is probably less harm in it..

Honestly i walk to work and usually have to move out the way as people move into the way..

You might have to look for the post where i started walking towards bins and lamposts..

Im not sure what faith this is.

In this thread insha-Allah you will read about the signs and proofs of the Existence and Tawheed of Allah All-Mighty from:

1. The Holy Quraan and the Sunnah,

2. Our body,

3. The surrounding universe / nature,

4. Scientific discoveries.

But first of all:

Let us take the Command of Allah Subhaanahoo wa Ta’aala from the Holy Quraan and the Sunnah;

In the very beginning of the Holy Quraan we find the following verses;

:sl: Ukthi,

jazakallah khair for this very important Imaan provoking thread and points that provoke thought.

See the verse 4 of Surah Al-Ra'd (Ar-Ra'd), its translation is here:

(13:4) And on the earth there are many tracts of land neighbouring each other.9 There are on it vineyards, and sown fields, and date palms: some growing in clusters from one root, some standing alone.10 They are irrigated by the same water, and yet We make some excel others in taste. Surely there are signs in these for a people who use their reason.11

Exp. notes 9--11:

9. That is, If you observe carefully, you will find divine wisdom, design and purpose in the diversity of the structure of the earth. Though it has countless regions adjoining one another, they are different from one another in their shapes, colors, component parts, characteristics, potentialities, productive capacity and source of minerals. This diversity has countless points of wisdom and advantage. Let alone other creatures, if we consider the diversity of regions from the point of the good it has done to mankind, we shall have to acknowledge that this is the result of the well thought and well planned design of the All-Wise Creator. For this diversity has helped the growth of human civilization so much that only an unreasonable person can assign this to mere accident.

10. Some of the date palm trees have only a single trunk from the root while others have two or more stems from the same root.

11. The things mentioned in this verse contain many other signs besides the proofs of Tauhid and the boundless powers and All-Comprehensive Wisdom of Allah. Let us consider one of these, that is, the diversity in the universe, including mankind. There is the one and the same earth but all its regions are quite different from one another. Then there is one and the same water but it helps to produce different kinds of corn and fruits. Then one and the same tree bears fruits which, in spite of likeness, differ from one another in shapes, sizes, and other features. Then there is one and the same root from which sometimes one and at others two trunks sprout up, with their own different characteristics. If one considers these aspects of diversity, one shall come to the conclusion that the divine wisdom demands the same kind of diversity in the natures, temperaments and inclinations of human beings, and, therefore, in their conducts. So, one need not worry about the existence of this diversity. As it has been stated in (Ayat 31), if Allah had willed, He could have created all human beings alike and virtuous by birth. But the wisdom that underlies the creation of the universe, including mankind, requires diversity and not uniformity. Otherwise, all this creation would have become meaningless.
************************************************** ************************************************** *******************************************

Allah All-Mighty also said in this verse that different fruits trees are watered by the same water but the fruits differ in taste. Surely in this also there is a sign of the Greatness of Allah Ta'ala.

Read the translation of the following verses of the Holy Quraan and think:

Surah Al-Nahl (An-Nahl) verses 77----------81 (Translation only);

Verse 77:

(16:77) Allah has full knowledge of the truths beyond the reach of perception both in the heavens and the earth;
70 and the coming of the Hour will take no more than the twinkling of an eye; it may take even less.71 Indeed Allah has power over everything.

Verse 78:

(16:78) Allah has brought you forth from your mothers' wombs when you knew nothing, and then gave you hearing, and sight and thinking hearts
72 so that you may give thanks.73

Exp. notes 72 and 73:

72. This is to remind them that when they were born they were more helpless and ignorant than the young one of an animal, but Allah gave them ears to hear, eyes to see and minds to think and reflect. These have enabled them to acquire every kind of information and knowledge to carry on their worldly affairs efficiently. So much so that these sensory faculties are the only means which help man attain so much progress as to rule over everything on the earth.

73. That is, you should be grateful to that Allah Who has bestowed upon you such blessings as these. It will be ingratitude on your part if you hear everything with your ears except the word of God, and see everything with your eyes except the signs of Allah and consider seriously about all the matters except your Benefactor Who has blessed you with these favors.
************************************************** ************************************************

Verse 79:

(16:79) Have they never noticed the birds how they are held under control in the middle of the sky, where none holds them (from falling) except Allah? Surely there are signs in this for those who believe.

Verse 80:

(16:80) Allah has made your houses a repose, and has provided you with the skins of the cattle for your habitation
74 which are light to handle both when you travel and when you camp;75 and out of their wool and their fur and their hair He has given you furnishings and goods for use over a period of time.

Exp. notes 74 and 75:

74. Tents of skin which are in common use in Arabia.

75. That is, when you want to start on a journey, you can easily fold your tents and carry them, and when you want to make a short halt, you can easily unfold them and pitch them for shelter and rest.

Verse 81:

(16:81) And Allah has provided shade for you out of some of the things He has created; and He has provided you with shelters in the mountains, and has given you coats that protect you from heat
76 as well as coats that protect you in battle.77 Thus does He complete His favour upon you78 that you may submit to Him.

Exp. notes 76---78:

76. The Quran has not mentioned protection from cold for either of the two reasons:

(1) Because the use of garments in the summer season is a symbol of cultural perfection and obviously there is no need to mention the lower stages of culture. Or

(2) the use of garments in hot countries has specially been mentioned because the main use of garments there is for protection from the hot pestilential furious wind. Therefore, one has to cover one’s head, neck, ears, and the whole of his body to protect it from the hot wind which would otherwise scorch him to death.

77. That is, Armors.

78. “Thus does He perfect His favor upon you”: Allah makes provision for the minutest needs and necessities of every aspect of human life. For example, let us take the instance of the protection of the human body from external influences. We find that Allah has made such elaborate arrangements as require a complete book to relate them. These arrangements reach their perfection in the case of clothing and housing arrangement. Or, if we consider the food requirements, we realize that it is of many varieties which fulfill every need. More than this: the means Allah has provided for food requirements of man are so numerous that the list of the varieties and the names of different kinds of food require a big volume. This is the perfection of the blessing of food. Likewise, one would see perfection of the blessings of Allah in the fulfillment of each and every human need and necessity.

************************************************** ************************************************

Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny?
And which of the Signs of your LORD will you deny?

In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful.

Allah All-Mighty said in the Holy Quraan:

Surah Ibraheem verses 32--34 (translation only):

(14:32) It is Allah43 Who created the heavens and the earth, Who sent down water from the heaven and thereby brought forth a variety of fruits as your sustenance, Who subjected for you the ships that they may sail in the sea by His command, Who subjected for you the rivers,

(14:33) Who subjected for you the sun and the moon and both of them are constant on their courses, Who subjected for you the night and the day,44

(14:34) and Who gave you all that you asked Him for.45 Were you to count the favours of Allah you shall never be able to encompass them. Verily man is highly unjust, exceedingly ungrateful.

- - - Updated - - -

Surah Yousuf verses 105--- 108(only translation):

(12:105) How many74 are the signs in the heavens and the earth which people pass by without giving any heed!75

(12:106) And most of them believe in Allah only when they associate others with Him in His Divinity.76

(12:107) Do they, then, feel secure that an overwhelming chastisement shall not visit them, and the Hour shall not suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it?77

(12:108) Tell them plainly: "This is my way: I call you to Allah, on the basis of clear perception - both I and those who follow me. Allah - Glory be to Him - is free of every imperfection.78 I have nothing to do with those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity."
