I agree with you about Mufti Menk who i always describe as the UNBIASED Scholar who studied 10 years in Medina (salafi , or wahhabi style ) and finished Mufti at Deoband but he does not stick (biased) 100 % to any one of it but adopting a middle path which is right imo as per this hadith

PROPHECIES OF NABI

TO BE CAREFUL IN OUR DAYS OR LATER

Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 88 :: Hadith 206
Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman:

The people used to ask Allah's Apostle about the good but I used to ask him about the evil lest I should be overtaken by them. So I said, "O Allah's Apostle! We were living in ignorance and in an (extremely) worst atmosphere, then Allah brought to us this good (i.e., Islam); will there be any evil after this good?" He said, "Yes." I said, 'Will there be any good after that evil?" He replied, "Yes, but it will be tainted (not pure.)'' I asked, "What will be its taint?" He replied, "(There will be) some people who will guide others not according to my tradition? You will approve of some of their deeds and disapprove of some others." I asked, "Will there be any evil after that good?" He replied, "Yes, (there will be) some people calling at the gates of the (Hell) Fire, and whoever will respond to their call, will be thrown by them into the (Hell) Fire." I said, "O Allah s Apostle! Will you describe them to us?" He said, "They will be from our own people and will speak our language." I said, "What do you order me to do if such a state should take place in my life?" He said, "Stick to the group of Muslims and their Imam (ruler)." I said, "If there is neither a group of Muslims nor an Imam (ruler)?" He said, "Then turn away from all those sects even if you were to bite (eat) the roots of a tree till death overtakes you while you are in that state."

Muslim :: Book 5 : Hadith 2322
Abu Salama and 'Ata' b. Yasar came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and asked him about Haruriya, saying: Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) making a mention of them? He (Abu Sai'd al-Khudri) said: I don't know who the Haruriya are, but I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: There would arise in this nation (and he did not say" out of them" ) a people and you would hold insignificant your prayers as compared with their prayers. And they would recite the Qur'an which would not go beyond their throats and would swerve through the religion (as blank) just as a (swift) arrow passes through the prey. The archer looks at his arrow, at its iron head and glances at its end (which he held) in the tip of his fingers to see whether it had any stain of blood.

and Also Bro Nouman Ali Khan who spent his life in Saudi from his age of 10 years (i think ) for about decade and a hafl that made him strong in Arabic and alhamdulilah, he's good at his noble Quran's lectures in my view

Though i haven't yet heard Sister Yasmeen's lectures but inshallah hope to do so asap.

Late Dr Israar Ahmed is another unbiased scholar of the 80's but in urdu.

Keep up & Continue with your dawah efforts forbidding evil and enjoining good and I am listing here some of My threads which should clear misconceptions prevailing about Islam and and the Glorious Quran and add inshallah add to our eemaan and right actions (sunnah - not biddah)

Hey guys, YES I am very confused about it.
So far my studying has reached the point of figuring out the difference between shia and sunni.
I see no need to further categoraze and divide my beilef ? Correct me if im wrong
Assalamu alaikum :)

Wa Alaykum salam

InshaAllah the truth is clear. You see, when you read something, you get different interpretations from person to person. In the same way, if we were to interpret Islam, we would all get different things. However, we have a solution. The early Muslims (ashaba. tabin, and the tabi tabiin) and the first three generations understood Islam the best and took their understanding from prophet Muhammad, pbuh. These people are also our early scholars and thus we take our Islamic interpretation from them.

They did not unnecessarily question and they were focused on practicing Islam or doing the most good deeds.

There are branches of Islamic knowledge:
-fiqh(rules, practices)
-usool
-aqeedah(basics of belief.

We all believe in fiqh and madhabs, but we differed in aqeedah which is in basics. The truth is very simple and clear.

Aqeedah is the 6 beliefs of a Muslim. Islam has a an action system(5 pillars) and a belief system. The belief system is as follows

  1. Belief in God and tawhid (monotheism)
  2. Belief in the angels
  3. Belief in the Islamic holy books[5]
  4. Belief in the prophets and messengers
  5. Belief in the Last Judgment and Resurrection
  6. Belief in predestination.

We do not believe Allah is anything like a human, and this is the literal interpretation of Islam. When Allah in the Qur'an says He has hands. We do not believe Allah has hands like we have hands. However, we stop there, so as not to deny the scripture or a verse. Others do give it metaphorical interpretations. One of the basic rules of aqidah is that we do not question the howness of the holy God. We cannot fully comprehend who God is.

Prophet Muhammad said Allah hid the rest of His names in His gayb. And Allah is ayatul kursi tells us He doesn't feel fatigue, and in suratul ihlas that He doesn't beget nor was he begotten.

I hope I was clear.

From what i understand about Shia (and i really haven't bothered to read up about them or will) is that they question the Rightly Guided Caliphs and say bad things about Umar Farooq (R.A). When these were promised Jannah then what is our status to question or say anything about them. I felt content in my mind about being a Sunni after that because SubhanAllah we don't do this kind of oppression, if you look at the life of Umar Farooq (R.A) there is no way that you won't be impressed by how pious and great leader he(R.A) was.

Of course i just skimmed through so i don't really know what Shia people really believe in so i apologize if i am wrong. But yeah, don't get into these sects yet, they will just confuse you. Believe in the most important beliefs you need which sister above posted.
