According to the Quran ,matter came before mind (consciousness) ?

I have been reading some physics articles ,including some about quantum physics ,and one author asked what came first ,mind or matter ?

Is it so that the quran tells the story of the creation of Adam ,and when God told the Angels once the spirit is inside the body ,they have to prostrate before Adam ?
And there is also narrations about Iblis inspecting Adams body ,during one of the stages of the creation of Adam while in the stage of sounding clay.

Or does it just mean that the soul was there before but not united with the body that was to be put on earth ?

Also what do you think is the theory behind consciousness affecting matter at quantum level ? I can't seem to find an explanation to it ,other than what many scientists who believe in God who said that the connection between the material world and the non-material (mind ,consciousness) shows the Atheists that matter is not independent.
