I searched for an article on About.com that refutes that Allah created the earth in our six days. It said that in another verse God's computation of a day is many years, or something like that.
I can't find that site now or the article. Can anyone else find it?
I havent seen this in Quran but I think it comes from Bible. If that is accurate and 1 day with Allah is 1000 years we count according to Quran so it took 6000 years we count. But even that is not sufficient amount of time according to modern astrophsyics. So I believe such periods have symbolic meanings. It must refer to a specific period in the creation of earth.

Sorry a correction there bro,
One thousand years in the sight of Allah is JUST LIKE ONE DAY (noble Quran)
in noble Quran says its as aiyaam or epochs which Dr zakir Naik put as a very long Six Periods.
