What is the meaning of the name Zyra and does the pronunciation matter?
Muslims often say pick the "best" name but not everyone can be called Mohammed and Aysha and besides naming your child such names doesn't automatically mean you'll enter paradise, if anything many with such names these days are among the worst of people. Surely the person matters over the name long as they're noble and don't have haram names?

Assalamu Alaikum

I don't believe the name Zyra is a Muslim name. Never heard of it.

That should be attributed to the person's personality not their name.

Assalaamu alaikum Chosen,

(smile) I quickly googled this name; it does indeed exist, apparently. What is important regarding a Muslim's name is that it mean something positive, beautiful. If it is beautiful, it is a Muslim name. (mildly) No matter which language or culture it comes from.

(smile) Having a beautiful name can be a positive influence on a person. (smile) Though of course, there are other factors that influence people, not just their names.

And then, of course, there are the decisions we make in life...

May God, the Knowing, Guide us to sensible choices.

Asalaamualaykum

It sounds to me like a rushed version of the name Zaheera dropping the "Ha" in Tajweed.

To be blunt - its a rather ignorant statement to make that many with the name like Muhammed and Aa'isha are amongst the worst of people these days.
If I were to ask you antonym of that question - meaning many of which names are the best of people how would you answer that ? and further more how did you ascertain that answer?
