An individual came up with the idea of doing fireworks or maybe lanterns to celebrate moving to a new house. I'm aware that fireworks that take place during bonfire night is prohibited in our religion but what about doing fireworks just to celebrate something like moving house as well as going out to view them. Am curious about this well the going out to view them bit haha.

Also what about lanterns is that thing allowed.

Fireworks is essentially setting fire to money. You wouldn’t take money and set it on fire. Yet somehow when people buy fireworks, they don’t realise they are doing just that. To celebrate buying a house, you can make dua for blessings and safety and give thanks for moving in. The best thing to do with your money, is give some sadaqah, and or buy something nice for the house.
And Allah knows best.
