Can a dead relative see what i do on a daily basis or that is not possible.

Not possible, but we can see people who are already dead in our dreams, that's what we call رؤيا
if you see Muhammad ssala allaho alayhi wa salam in your dreams then surely it is him because Ibliss can not take the appearance of the prophet

The dead have no more veil in front of their eyes and they are still present. they can see and hear us. therefore you must always greet the dead when you are passing by a cemetary...they greet back but we cannot hear them.
Our prophet did talk to the dead..i will look for hadeeths of this...
this does not mean that we are constantly observed by our passed ones...because they are too occupied in the Barzaq and have other worries.
but yes, all of their senses work perfectly fine.

“The Messenger of Allah spoke to the People (buried) in the Well saying: “Have you found out that what your Lord had promised you is true?” then someone exclaimed: “Are you calling out to the dead!” The Prophet replied: “You do not hear better than they do, except they do not respond.”
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 452

Narrated Abu Talha:

“On the day of Badr, the Prophet ordered that the corpses of twenty four leaders of Quraish should be thrown into one of the dirty dry wells of Badr. �� When he halted at the edge of the well, he addressed the corpses of the Quraish infidels by their names and their fathers’ names, “O so-and-so, son of so-and-so and O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Would it have pleased you if you had obeyed Allah and His Apostle? We have found true what our Lord promised us. Have you too found true what your Lord promised you? “‘Umar said, “O Allah’s Apostle! You are speaking to bodies that have no souls!” Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hand Muhammad’s soul is, you do not hear, what I say better than they do.” (Qatada said, “Allah brought them to life (again) to let them hear him, to reprimand them and slight them and take revenge over them and caused them to feel remorseful and regretful.”)

And Anas b. Malik reported that:

Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) let the dead bodies of the unbelievers who fought in Badr (lie unburied) for three days. He then came to them and sat by their side and called them and said: O Abu Jahl b. Hisham, O Umayya b. Khalaf, O Utba b. Rab’ila, O Shaiba b. Rabi’a, have you not found what your Lord had promised with you to be correct? As for me, I have found the promises of my Lord to be (perfectly) correct. Umar listened to the words of Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) and said: Allah’s Messenger, how do they listen and respond to you? They are dead and their bodies have decayed. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, what I am saying to them, even you cannot hear more distinctly than they, but they lack the power to reply. Then’he commanded that they should be buried in the well of Badr.
Sahih Muslim, Book 040, Number 6869

Narrated Ibn Shihab:

These were the battles of Allah’s Apostle (which he fought), and while mentioning (the Badr battle) he said, “While the corpses of the pagans were being thrown into the well, Allah’s Apostle said (to them), ‘Have you found what your Lord promised true?” ‘Abdullah said, “Some of the Prophet’s companions said, “O Allah’s Apostle! You are addressing dead people.’ Allah’s Apostle replied, ‘You do not hear what I am saying, better than they.’ ��”

Yes exactly...thank you lif. Those were exactly the Hadiths I meant. As you can see, these come from Bukhari and are very strong the Hadiths.
since I was a little kid my parents and relatives always told me that I should greet the dead when I am passing by cemeteries. Because they can see you coming. if you greet, they greet back. I always thought that was some superstition they believed in...until I found out that there were strong Hadiths about it.

The First Party see that: dead people CANNOT hear the living.

Their arguments:

The first
Allah says:
فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاء إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ ﴿٥٢﴾
وَمَا أَنتَ بِهَادِي الْعُمْيِ عَن ضَلَالَتِهِمْ ...
So verily, you cannot make the dead to hear, nor can you make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away.
And you cannot guide the blind from their straying;
The second
He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.
If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; andif they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrectionthey will deny your association. And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted[with all matters].

12-13 Sourat Fatir

The Third

That means it's a special event, god gave that possibility to Muhammad (S) at that time

The fourth
It was narrated that Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Allah (SWT) has angels who travel around on Earth conveying to me the Salams of my Ummah.'"
And what we should remark that if Muhammad (S) hear our Salam why Allah will send angels with one mission conveying our Salams to him?

The Second party see that: the dead CAN hear generally and not in all situations

And there is also a third party that sees that: the dead hear in all situations but it is not useful for them

I did not know this. I looked the ayat you mentioned up (Surah 30. Ar-Rum, Ayaat 52 To 53) in Tafsir ibn Kathir and indeed...just as you have said, the dead in Badr have been brought back to life so that he could hear Muhammed (sas).
