It can be better. In order to be the best team one would need to have the best player, right? In the war you fight with the best weapons, correct? Same thing in this situation. Since ummah.com is down this should be a grate opportunity for this forum to become the champion of Islamic online community. So, in order to become a champion I think this forum should upgrade it's platform from vBulletin® to xenforo forum platform. In my opinion, xenforo is the best platform that is out there.

Here is some examples

:salam:

:jz: for the suggestion. Xenforo is indeed very good. I have read a lot of praise about it. We might switch over to Xenforo in the future when needed :ia:.

At the moment, I do not see any pressing need for forum migration. Recently we have upgraded our vB version and installed a new customized responsive style. We also hve a huge number of plugins and add-ons. Porting all of them over to Xenforo will not be an easy task.

Ummah forum was also running vB4. Not sure what their plans are for the future.

I still think you should go with the best weapon here. If it's not Xenforo then something else that is the best. I think is a good time to shine.

I don't know much about Information Technology - I am still confused as to why the the Space Bar does not have a label with "Space Bar" on it. Every other key has a label !!!
However, I think a few tweaks can make navigation around the site easier.

I think when the OP is creating a post he should have the option of ticking whether it is a video post, picture post or a general question. That icon should in turn appear next to his post. Just so that viewers can have an idea whats in the post.

Also - i think when replying to a thread, there should be a "off topic" icon to press so that the one who is replying can click it so others know that his/her particular post is off the topic but kind of related. Why wait for a another person to tell someone that their post is off topic when we can give the responsibility to the actual poster within the thread. If you think about it even in real life communication we digress into other sub topics anyway, so why not just give the option to the poster to click an off topic icon. That icon will appear in the start of his post.

Just a thought.

UF was on top of most visited forums is cause one of the top reasons is due to the amount of controversy with all the jihadi's posting there openly about how killing civilians even if they may be egyptians in a mosque is a great thing , so that forum is probably visited by more than just muslims who are reading into how muslims think in events such as those.

I like your ideas. :ia: I will try to implement them.

Can you give a few examples of this as well?

The ideas itself will help a person navigate : Example, sometimes a user might be inclined to viewing videos - so all the posts with "v" before the title the user can skip.

Similarly - when one views a post they can skip the "off topic" posts because each "off topic" post relating to that thread will be visual by the very first line being this

:offtopic: in other words the actual poster one he/she clicks the "off topic" button that icon will appear as the very first line of the post.
