This war is known as the start of Turks’ conversion to Islam. It has such a importance in the Turko-Islamic history. Muslim Arabs did not have a good relationship with Turks during the Umayyad period but it changed with the Abbasids.

Yes, I'm disappointed to realise that Turkish Arab relations have been mixed throughout history. Most recently with Muhammad Bin Salman crass comments towards the Turkey :(

Having said that The Turks conversion has been a real boon for Islam :D

The Sassanid Empire was weakened after the war of 602-628 against the Byzantine Empire http://bit.ly/2BLg5lV and their defeats at al-Qadisiyyah http://bit.ly/2QwTBvL and Nahavand at the hands of the Caliphate forces effectively ended the empire. Still, representatives of the House of Sasan continued resisting and found allies - the Tang dynasty in China.
