We all know committing suicide is declared non permissible in Islam, however, is assisted suicide/Euthanasia (the right to die, again a form of suicide) haram?

If a terminally/mentally ill person wants the right to die, can they seek medical assistance for death? Would that doctor be committing something haram?

This questions is just out of curiosity because I was watching a documentary on Euthanasia being legal in Belgium, Brussels, so it made me want to seek an answer to this under Islamic (Shariah) law.

In my opinion, if suicide is HARAM, than Euthanasia would also be because it is still a form of suicide essentially (to willingly want to kill your life)
