View Full Version : Lack of Empathy in some people

:sl: everyone! (I've just started this forum and i wanted to say my greetings. Unfortunately i'm starting on a slightly negative note but i wanted to share something i am concerned about).

Subhanallah, many of you may have already heard about the conflict going on between Russia, Syria,US etc. Reading all these news articles i'm seeing some people online talking about if war broke out, which side would win. I've even stumbled across Muslim commenters who claim to be from places like Turkey, Pakistan,Indonesia etc. Who say that they wish Russia would just nuke the US and European countries as they have oppressed so many people. It amazes me how some people claiming to be Muslim could say something like this. I know our Brothers & Sisters in Syria and other places across the world are suffering and we should always pray that Allah rectifies their situation, but is it necessary to wish something like that all for the sake of so called revenge.

If the Prophet

were alive today, i highly doubt he would condone such weapons of mass destruction in warfare as it goes against everything he

stands for. As can be seen from what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in WWII, nuclear weapons are not something to be joked about. I doubt it would escalate to that but it really made me want to weep with how desensitised we have become to the value of innocent human life. Injustice knows no religion, race, age or gender, so even if happens to a Non-Muslim, in my opinion it doesn't make it any less wrong. Even the prophet

ordered to never mutilate the corpses of his enemies in times of war and here we are talking about someone dying in such a horrific manner. We as Muslims should have love for each other but it seems that this is not the case with some people.

I apologise for the long post but honestly it just really shocked me that a someone, especially a Muslim would wish for something like that (even indirectly). I just wanted to bring light to the fact that even if you happen to dislike the people governing a country, it doesn't mean that the lives of all their civilians are worthless.

Subhanallah, the world is filled with such hatred, may Allah guide us and soften our hearts. I pray that this issue resolves itself and that no further conflict arises Inshallah. Also that Allah showers his mercy on the millions of innocent people suffering around the world.

We suffer because of misguidance..

In leadership and ownership.

Those that truly dont align themselves with anything else..

Choose you, I or we carefully or unawarely.

The only way to win is to not know your playing.

Empathy without reward is not something most people buy into..

None of it really matters until you are in two places at once anyway..

And then it matters too much.

Its not an easy day for many people, unfortunately I'm as thick as a brick..

If your better at reading then speak freely..

Let's see your empathy.

Sorry if it doesn't make sense, iv been here too long..

Is that biff again?

It would seem that all sides adhere to the truths they proclaim..

Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us]."

And this one to bring it out of context regarding my post..

Mohsin Khan: Then whoever disputes with you concerning him ['Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad SAW) "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves - then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie."

But yeah.. I dont know how they pray. o_0

People generally don't care, because if it doesn't affect them or their interests, it's below them.

one day you youngsters will realise, inshallah, hate, war, destruction achieves nothing.
there is no winning in war and hate.
look after yourselves and families,
focus on education and pray, form a relationship with allah taala.
and leave politics to the politicians.

Exactly. Thats what angers me. As muslims we are told to uphold justice but we only care about ourselves

Completely abstaining from politics and leaving it to corrupt politicians who claim to represent us is not a right decision either, I would argue. Just like the hatred described above is an exaggeration in harshness, this attitude is an exaggeration in mildness. Staying silent is a passive consent to the actions of those politicians. And as the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) explained, when somebody observes an evil in the public, he has to change it.

“Whoever of you sees an evil must then change it with his hand. If he is not able to do so, then [he must change it ] with his tongue. And if he is not able to do so, then [he must change it] with his heart. And that is the slightest [effect of] faith.” (Muslim)

"When the people see an oppressor but they do not try to stop him, soon Allaah will cause all of them to suffer punishment because of him.’” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2168; Abu Dawood, 4338; Ibn Maajah, 4005)

We have the responsibility of enjoining good and forbidding evil, and abandoning this obligation leads to the decline of a community - as that which happened to Banu Israil. And when physical aggression targets Muslims, the obligation of jihad succeeds this obligation by demanding the direct protection of Muslim sanctities. How can one sit in his house while his neighboring people are being slaughtered?

I could understand arguments demanding a different type of jihad instead of war due to respective conditions. However completely abandoning this obligation, by not even doinig amru bil maruf wa nahyu anil munkar, and secluding one's self into one's house it not the right path. Starting from one's self and one's family one should educate and raise awareness in public - which comprises political matters .
