This forum thread is to highlight the Indian education system today.
We Muslims are a minority in India. Nobody here hates any other religion, it's like we respect everyone's culture and live peacefully but there are some narrow-minded people and I believe they exist in every religion.
In Muslim countries, the education system includes Islamic knowledge but it's not the case here. The best schools and universities in India are mostly English-medium . It's important to know about one's religion and it's scriptures . I truly feel I know like nothing about my religion Islam and its scriptures. Several times I tried my best learning about my religion but I don't know why I don't just feel convinced. I usually don't like reading history books and all maybe because I am a student of science . Or is this because of our education system that has become so rational that we feel history to be stories of the past ?
I just can't relate to scriptures sometimes, it looks like some tale or a story.
And I believe that it is tough to be a good Muslim and practice Islam regularly in a country where the majority is non-Muslims.
I want to know the view on this from other Indian-Muslim students like me , do you face the same problem?
I am not saying that Indian education system is bad or something but it's just that we don't get to learn anything about Islam in our education system though there are few Islamic schools in India but they aren't well known and the quality of formal education there isn't upto the mark.
Well, thank you so much for sharing this link! It seems to be a great site .
