View Full Version : Is hell fire justified for people who are kind and good at heart?

I know many people who are good at heart and are nice people but they are non-Muslims. Sometimes I wonder whether they deserve the hell fire or not??

Bill Gates and Melinda Gates are great people and they're also into philanthropy . They're doing alot for the world. Bill Gates doesn't believe in God, he believes only in humanity. He's an open-minded person.
I wonder did he never come across Islam or the Quran ? Why doesn't he want to become God conscious ? Why can't he accept the fact that God exists ?

Kind and good at heart non believers?

As appose to mean and corrupt at heart believers?

I suppose heaven and hell are just the souls you are stuck here with.. And only the ignorant wouldn't be able to tell which ones do what.

This is so and so, 3 thousand people were at his wedding.. look at him now, sat in this room alone, he was introduced to the pretender.

And by the time he left it he considered both just empty shells of men.

judgement passed every time they moved their tongues.
..
..
I suppose the world works the same for both the believers and non believers, until you meet judgement that is.

Greetings and peace be with you Nashita;

Spend some time reflecting on the 99 names of Allah. He is merciful, just, compassionate and it mentions three times that he forgives.

In the spirit of praying to a just and merciful God,

Eric

I agree that the world works the same for everyone.
But don't you think hell fire is too harsh for people who are good at heart and kind enough but are non-believers?

Do you think, as individuals who don't believe in Allah, as atheists, they care or worry about where their end is? Probably not.
So why do you?

Allah is the Creator of ALL things. He created Jannah to reward those who believe in Him. He created hell for those who did not. You can be a saint all you want but if you deny Him then what right do you have to His Jannah? And what good is equal to the sin of denying the existence of God or associating partners with Him?

Educate yourself on your deen and you will understand this better.

Regarding Bill Gates. He is no saint. He is a the devil as are all his kind. He and his kind are out to commit genocide to reduce the world population, especially for those non white third world countries, like yours. His philanthropy is just a front for his schemes and sins. Here is your bill gates and his foundation:

Bill Gates admits that the vaccines are for human depopulation. According to him, to stabilize the world population, 350,000 people must be eliminated per day. Bill Gates expound on how we must all consent to a ‘kill the humans’ strategy, to ‘save the planet’ from the carbon dioxide we make. See his lips move. I’m not kidding.

The question is not about sin here!

The question asks whether hell fire is just for people who are kind and good at heart but are disbelievers ?

You're not getting it. The day of judgement will be so terrifying, that you and I will not even care for our loved ones - we will be too afraid to care. We will be seeking to absolve only ourselves from the punishment of the hellfire. Do not waste your time worrying about that which will not concern you on the day of judgement!

Did it not occur to you that even believers will have to enter the hellfire if they had sinned?

Did you not know that EVERYONE sins?

Did you not understand that to be forgiven, one must seek forgiveness and refrain from sin?

The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam worried about the non believers. Do you know what Allah revealed to him?

Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow. Qur'an 18/6

Just one last thing. Muslims are not hippies. So don't act like one! Coz everything is not gonna be alright. It's gonna be as Allah willed! Not how you or I will, do you understand?

Qur'an 22:17
Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.
Quran 2:62
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.
I don't know why we do and with what intent, I don't know what becomes of it or who follows it..

And I don't know if it was just.

But I don't want to be unkind or read things I wouldn't want to read..

And that's hard because the people I keep seeing did me wrong for about 3 years..

I don't know why though.

The whole place runs like clockwork.

...you can set your time by them if it would do you any good.

I just want to get back to work without it costing the world.

What about his sins. How is he repenting for them? Who is he asking for forgiveness? What did he build in his afterlife to live in?

Your trust in Allah's justice and judgement should be far greater than your worries about those who don't care for what you're even worrying about. I'm sure Bill Gates is not worrying about you. If you're worrying about anyone, then you can give da'wah, but apart from that, everyone is on his own and gets judged accordingly.

You don't know who is good at heart. That's not one of your capabilities. A person can do one action in the public eye and atrocious sins in private. They can give in charity and publicize themselves for a platform so that they can push their agenda. You don't KNOW everything. You don't have FULL judgement, yet you call a person "good hearted" by the one "good deed" that is shown to you. Don't put anyone on a pedestal, especially when they have no concern for Allah, Islam, and the afterlife. This life is a test for the BELIEVERS. If you don't believe, then you've already failed. It's like submitting a math exam to the literature department; you won't get credit for it; you won't advance; and even if you told everyone you got the answers right, they won't ever count because you never submitted it correctly. It's the same concept. Your deeds don't even count unless you pray to Allah and are well-intended. Your sins are not washed unless you ask Allah for sincere forgiveness and repent. So no matter what you do, if the belief in Allah is not there, then it will always be a worldly action, and this world will cease to exist one day as will everything we put into it. Your deeds have to transcend beyond this world because we are affected negatively by this world and it can prevent us from doing anything good whether we intend it or not, but at least with belief in Allah, we can maintain our good intentions and improve regardless of whether or not this world accepts it and it will be recorded and we will find it later on on our scale of good deeds inshallah.

Also to offer a bit of perspective, a person who gives away $2 when he has $100, is different than someone who gives away $1 when he only has $2. Just sayin'.

Assalamualaikum.

I have met kindhearted non-Muslims, and I have seen their kindness toward the others. However, I never ask why don't they become Muslim?. But I always ask myself, ... can I, a Muslim, do kindness better than them?. Alhamdulillah, it motivates me to always do kindness toward the others.

Someone can choose to become religious or become atheist. Someone can choose to embrace Islam or embrace other religion. If those kindhearted non-Muslims choose to not embrace Islam, this is their own choice. You don't need to bother with it. So, rather than you ask why don't they become Muslim, it's better you ask yourself, can you do kindness better than them?.

Do you know a believing Muslim who knows homosexuality is wrong but practices it and have boyfriends and then repents and fails again and goes back until he dies is still better than a kafir who not only believes homosexuality is a sin, does not practice it and of such great heart, he saved billions of Muslim and put all his money in helping the poor and children and and and and and...still in the day of judgement all his good deeds will be like dust blown in the win (for the kafir) and that Muslim who practicied homosexuality after being punished in the grave or hellfire will enter paradise and live eternally happiness in paradise. Reason being is because he KNOWS HOMOSEXUALITY IS HARAAAM, he believes it, he is disgusted from it..but he falls doing haraam and he believes in Allah (Subhanahu Wa talaa), he does not associate partners with him, he believes in quraan and sunnah and he prays his five prayers. He is a Muslim. But doing haraam. Much like Muslim backbiting, drinking alcohol, doing zina, stealing, lying..watching pornography...but they all hold one thing...they are Muslims. THAT IS YOUR key to paradise.

WE ARE CREATED FOR ONE PURPOSE...worshiping Allah (Subhnahu Wa Talaa).

İn other words...what you are really saying is: save your own soul instead of worrying about others...pretty selfish if you ask me....it might be their own choice...but they are not always aware of the great danger behind it.
İ agree...do not bother others who wish to keep their own religion...but those who are open to İslam...it is our duty to make them aware of these dangers....and then stil they can make their own choices.

Yes that is true. İ fully agree...but striving to be the best possible muslim includes to make those who are interested aware of the dangers of thehereafter...and then still leave the rest to Allah.
You cannot expect Allah to help if you do not put effort in it.
A farmer cannot just plant seeds and then just pray to Allah to help him...he needs to take care of his crops...to water them...and after he has done everything in his power...then he can pray to Allah to help him...

That Allah chooses whom he helps does not mean you should not do something...maybe Allah chooses you as a tool to help others to make them aware...ever thought about it like that?

Every blessings double to you inşaallah my brother

For someone who is kind to others but God, it means s/he's kind only to others but hurting God.

There is nothing wrong with you to sympathize others who you said are good but will be placed in hell, but please be careful not to justified it to attack or urge to renew Islam.

you are totally missing the purpose of why you came here on Earth.

Let us say you are taking a math test. in this test, you can explain Einstein's relativity theory with in great detail and precision, but if you do not answer the math questions in the right way, you will fail your test.

you came here on this Earth for your test. Your objection is to find Allah and to believe in Him. He has given you a lot of clues, you just have to reckognize them and to believe in Him.
You can do great things in life...help a lot of people...create a world peace...but if you do not believe in Allah, you have failed your test.
your good deeds, you will be greatly rewarded for those. the rewards will be much much greater than your efforts...but unfortunately it will only be temporary...

On judgement day, only believers will be able to cross the Sirat bridge and enter Heaven.
The disbelievers, who already were greatly rewarded for their good deeds, will have only their sins on this day...and fall down the Sirat bridge, right into Hell for Eternity...because they have failed their tests on Earth.

''وماخلقت الجن والإنس إلا ليعبدون''
"I did not create Jinn & Mankind except that the worship ME (Alone)''.

That is what Allah says in the Qur'an. Kindness, charity, humility, modesty....etc are all virtuous deed; but without believing in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, The Final Day, Pre-destiny (Qadar), then those deeds will not be accepted by Allah the Almighty. They might be rewarded somehow in this Dunya, but in Akhera they have no Naseeb (Portion). Read the following verse & ponder carefully:

{Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

} Al Qur'an 2:177

My final advice: refrain from overthinking about shubuhaat which the shaytan might use against you. Allah is the One who asks but is not Asked!

Now that I re-read my own post, it sounds like very hard towards Nashita.
I am sorry, I did not mean it that way at all. I agree with sister herb that you have a warm heart, but I just wanted to explain why it is not unjust that good-hearted non-believers still deserve Hell for eternity.

What I meant with "totally missed why you came to this earth" was that she appearantly did not realise why we come to this Earth, and what our objective here is:
to search and believe in the one true God. only helping others and being kind is OK, but it is not enough to fullfill our objective.

I did not mean to say something like "she totally failed in this life" or something like the kind.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

I appreciate your effort to make me understand. I need to research more on this, I am sure I am gonna convince myself soon with a conclusion on this . Allah knows the best . He will help me find a way.

Interesting question in the OP but i dont think Bill Gates is a great example..vaccine damaged kids are a reality and someone is making big money selling those shots, and selling baby formula (subsidised again by charity) which is another story linked to Mr Gates and the alleged depopulation agenda.
besides.
Can Islam support micro$oft and the intellectual 'property' racket and a corporate system where one man can amass such obscene wealth?
Wealth invested in (among others) Nestle, Monsanto, GMO, and vaccine producers..my guess is all those that partake in that kind of system are going to burn in the hellfire when their day comes whether they knowingly kill millions or not.

I think my Dad would be a better example, a good kind hearted honest atheist worked hard all his life for sweet fa , inshalla he is not in the place where Bill and his corporate ceo mates are going.

Sorry, I really do not want to talk about your father, but I if your father died as a real atheist, he rejected Islam etc....then I'm afraid that there is only little chance that he is in a better place now. Of course, God is the one who makes the final decision, but I am afraid that he is regretting his choices on Earth right now.
A hard lesson to you to not be like your father and make sure you earn your place in heaven.
Your father did not invest in his future...but for you...do not make the same mistake.

Sorry, I really do not want to be hard on you...you might want to insult or hurt me...I do not mind...but I DO want to make you aware of it.

blessings to you.

I dont think my Dad rejected Islam as in he probably never looked into it, but in my eyes, he did submit to what in his heart he thought was true and just and he was a good doer in his life, which indirectly is submitting to the will of God, which Inshalla is enough.

And peace and blessings be upon you for making me aware of the Truth.

Quran 2:111-112 "And they say, 'None shall enter Paradise except that they be Jews or Christians.' Such are their desires... However, whosoever submits his will to God, being a good-doer, his wage is with his Lord, and no fear shall be on them, neither shall they fell sorrow. "

2:115
And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah . Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

Greetings and peace be with you umie;

Of course, God is the one who makes the final decision,
It has been said that a theologian is someone who has thoughts on the nature of God, but it has also been said, that a theologian reveals more of their own nature, than they do of God's nature.

I recall a conversation with a drunk lady. She said she gets in lots of fights and beats people up, she asked, will God forgive her?

I said you are probably asking the wrong question, and the question you have to ask yourself is this, next time I am angry and want to hit someone, can I find it in my heart to forgive them? If you can forgive them, you will come to understand how God can forgive you.

We can never truthfully understand the nature of God, but I believe the 99 names of Allah help us. Read through all the names and their meanings, see what is mentioned more; punishment or forgiveness, mercy and compassion. How many times is forgiver mentioned compared to punisher? Check out the first and last names and look at the order the names are written.

81, Avenger,
82, Forgiver
83, compassionate.

We are all in need of the mercy, forgiveness and compassion of Allah.

May you and your family be blessed this Ramadan

I wonder did he never come across Islam or the Quran ? Why doesn't he want to become God conscious ? Why can't he accept the fact that God exists ?

Firstly my sister you or I cannot judge who is truly a good or bad person. What we see of glimpses of a person's life or what we see of them via the media of their "alleged" goodworks does not mean we know or understand the full and bigger picture of what they get upto behind closed doors. Allah tells us in the Qur'an about the deception of this life. This is a very profound statement that many of us do not truly understand. For if we were to know the real and full truth about the extent of the deception of this world then many of us would find it very difficult to believe and comprehend. This is because most of us are asleep to the true reality of this world. Certain people are glorified by the media or by some people as doing much good, however the true reality is that they are involved in evil beyond our imagination and are amongst the most evil people on Earth. Even those people who do much good are not guaranteed to enter Paradise because their deeds were corrupted with insincerety and bad intentions:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) that clearly shows how the act of doing things for others can cause some to be enflamed on the Day of Judgment. One of them, for example, will be a wealthy man who will be brought, and Allah will say to him: “Was I not so generous with you that I did not leave you without any need from anyone?” He will reply: ‘Of course O Lord!’ Allah will ask: “Then what did you do with what I gave to you?” He will say: ‘I would nurture the ties of kinship and give charity.’ Then Allah will say to him: “You have lied. Rather, you wanted it to be said that so-and-so is so generous, and that was said. (meaning that you wanted to get appreciated and that’s what happened.)” (Part of a long hadith in Sunan Tirmidhi Vol. 4, Book 10, Hadith 2382).

So it is best to leave the judging to Allah as he is the best of judges because he knows and understand the full and bigger picture of the life, sincerety and intentions of every soul. We only know from what we see in a few glimpses of a persons life or what we see of certain people as portrayed by the media or by other people. For Almighty Allah knows everything including what lies in the deepest part of every persons heart and what they do behind closed doors.

Therefore we must have certainty that he is the best of judges with regards to who deserves to be saved and who deserves to perish. He is the most just and his mercy is greater than his wrath, so therefore he will save many souls even those who we may think do not deserve it. This is because his mercy, compassion and generosity is far greater than any of us can ever comprehend.

So know that we must never think that we know best regarding who is worthy and who is not worthy of doom for we know very little and therefore we cannot even begin to think we know better. We must full put our trust in the one who created us and everything around us and who gave us our eyes to see and minds to think. We must do our best to save ourselves and our families first and foremost and then the rest of the Muslims as well as inviting the non Muslims to the right path. We can do this by firstly being the best examples we possibly can trying to understand the Qur'an and emulating the character of our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and also inviting others to the path of Islam in the best way and manner using wisdom and tact.

May Allah save us and our families from doom, accept our good deeds and forgive our short comings and any hidden bad intentions. Ameen

Hatim al-Tai or Hatim Altaaey (Arabic: حاتم الطائي‎ Hatim of the Tayy tribe; died 578), but formally Ḥātim bin ʿAbda'llāh bin Saʿad a'ṭ-Ṭāʾiyy (Arabic: حاتم بن عبد الله بن سعد الطائي‎) was a famous Arab poet who belonged to the Ta'i tribe of Arabia. Stories about his extreme generosity have made him an icon among Arabs up until today, as evident in the proverbial phrase "more generous than Hatim" (Arabic: أكرم من حاتم‎).

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatim_al-Tai

Adiyy ibn Hatim ( عدي ابن حاتم الطائي ) was a leader of the Arab tribe of Tayy, and one of the companions of Muhammad. He is the son of the poet Hatim al-Tai[1] who was widely known for his chivalry and generosity among Arabs. Adi remained antagonistic to Islam for about twenty years until he converted to Islam from Christianity[2] in 630 (9th year of Hijra).[3]

Adiyy inherited the domain of his father and was confirmed in the position by the Tayy people. A great part of his strength lay in the fact that a quarter of any amount they gained as booty from raiding expeditions had to be given to him.

Adi joined the Islamic army at the time of caliph Abu Bakr. He fought wars of revolt against the apostates and also was a commander of the Islamic army sent to invade Iraq under the command of Khalid ibn al-Walid. He also fought on the side of Ali ibn Abi Talib, at the Battle of Camel and Battle of Siffin.

There are a number of ahaadeeth which mention Haatim al-Taai, some of which are hasan (good), some da’eef (weak) and some mawdoo’ (fabricated).

(a) It was narrated that ‘Adiyy ibn Haatim said: I said to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “My father used to uphold the ties of kinship, and do such and such… Will he have any (reward) for that?” He said, “Your father seeking something and he got it.”

This was narrated by Ahmad, 32/129, and classed and hasan by Shaykh Shu’ayb al-Arna’oot.

(b) It was narrated that ‘Adiyy ibn Haatim said: I said, “O Messenger of Allaah, my father used to uphold the ties of kinship, and do such and such.” He said, “Your father wanted something and got it” meaning, fame.

Narrated by Ahmad (30/200); classed as hasan by Shaykh Shu’ayb al-Arna’oot, and classed as saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan, 1/41.

(c) It was narrated from Sahl ibn Sa’d al-Saa’idi that ‘Adiyy ibn Haatim came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, my father used to uphold the ties of kinship, and spend on the needy, and feed people.” He said, “Did he live to see Islam?” He said, “No.” He said, “Your father wanted to be remembered.”

Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 6/197. Its isnaad includes Rushdeen ibn Sa’d, who is da’eef (weak), but it is supported by the report mentioned above.

The phrase translated above and “spend on the needy” means spending on the weak, the poor, orphans and dependents, etc.

(d) It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: Mention was made of Haatim in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he said, “That is a man who wanted something and got it.”

Al-Haythami said:

This was narrated by al-Bazzaar, and its isnaad includes ‘Ubayd ibn Waaqid al-‘Absi, who was classed as da’eef by Abu Haatim.

Majma’ al-Zawaa’id, 1/119

But it is supported by the reports quoted above.

Ibn Katheer said:

We have mentioned the biography of Haatim Tay’ in the days of the Jaahiliyyah when we mentioned those who died of the famous people of that era, and we referred to his generosity and kindness to people. But generosity and kindness must be based on faith if they are to benefit a person in the Hereafter, but he never said one day, “O Lord, forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement.”

Al-Bidaayah wa’l-Nihaayah, 5/67.

And Allaah knows best.

Muslim (203) narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him)
That a man said:
“O Messenger of Allaah, where is my father?”
He said: “In Hell.”
When he turned away he called him back and said:
“My father and your father are in Hell.”

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

This shows that whoever dies in a state of kufr will be in Hell. And being related to one who is close to Allaah will not avail him anything. It also shows that whoever died during the fatrah (the interval between the Prophethood of ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) and that of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) and was the follower of the way of the Arabs at that time, which was idol worship, will also be among the people of Hell. There is no excuse for the call not reaching them, because the call of Ibraaheem and other Prophets (peace be upon them) had reached these people.

Muslim (976) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“I asked my Lord for permission to pray for forgiveness for my mother, but He did not give me permission. And I asked Him for permission to visit her grave, and He gave me permission.”

Literal
(Word by Word)
Do you make the providing of water (to) the pilgrims and (the) maintenance (of) Al-Masjid Al-Haraam like (the one) who believes in Allah and the Day the Last, and strives in (the) way (of) Allah? They are not equal near Allah. And Allah (does) not guide the people unjust.

Muhammad Asad
Do you, perchance, regard the [mere] giving of water to pilgrims and the tending of the Inviolable House of Worship as being equal to [the works of] one who believes in God and the Last Day and strives hard in God's cause? These [things] are not equal in the sight of God. And God does not grace with His guidance people who [deliberately] do wrong.

M. M. Pickthall
Count ye the slaking of a pilgrim's thirst and tendance of the Inviolable Place of Worship as (equal to the worth of) him who believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and striveth in the way of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
Do ye make the giving of drink to pilgrims, or the maintenance of the Sacred Mosque, equal to (the pious service of) those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and strive with might and main in the cause of Allah? They are not comparable in the sight of Allah: and Allah guides not those who do wrong.
