As for a "logical" reason then you will not find any[/B].
You may find scholars attempt to provide some to help people to accept and follow the Command, but you will not find any in the Qur'aan and authentic Hadith. A scholars understanding and explanations, regardless of his good will, are not always the reasons why Allaah has Commanded something.
So, take any "logical" reasons presented to you with a grain of salt. What is important is what Allaah has blessed you with. The ability to give up what you love to do for what pleases Allaah. That is really all that counts.
I disagree with your views on this. While we obey Allah and His commands out of faith and obedience, it does not mean Allah does not give us a reason nor is there any logical reason nor does Allah not want us to think and ponder over it. Islam is not based on blind faith. Allah tells us in the quran time after time, will you not ponder? will you not reflect? will you not give it a thought?
... Thus do We explain in detail the signs for a people who give thought. [4.24]
Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said; “The angels do not enter a house in which there is an image or a dog.”
In some cases no reason is given, in some a direct reason is given and in some it is implied or concluded from all the other reports/hadiths given. You won't find a direct statement saying "because"... but you will find plenty of reasons as to why that is. For example, plenty of hadith mention that a dog's saliva is impure and anything his mouth touches becomes impure. Same with images, images lead to veneration which leads to worship which leads to shirk. And in Islam if something is haram (ex: shirk) then anything that can lead to it is also haram (ex: images).
