View Full Version : Do Not Be Deprived Of Good.

As-Salaam alaikum,
Says the Noble Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, "Allah says: poverty is my prison and disease is my chain. I inflict a servant whom I love with these."

When there is prevention of sin in disease, what greater good can there be than this? There is peace of mind in giving up of sins. A certain religious man asked someone: 'How are you? He said: I am in peace of mind. He said if you have not committed sins, you are then in peace of mind. If you commit sins, then what disease is greater than sins? He who commits sins is deprived of good.'

M. M. Pickthall
Man prayeth for evil as he prayeth for good; for man was ever hasty.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
The prayer that man should make for good, he maketh for evil; for man is given to hasty (deeds).

Quran, Chapter 17, Verse 11

M. M. Pickthall
And let those fear (in their behaviour toward orphans) who if they left behind them weak offspring would be afraid for them. So let them mind their duty to Allah, and speak justly.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
Let those (disposing of an estate) have the same fear in their minds as they would have for their own if they had left a helpless family behind: Let them fear Allah, and speak words of appropriate (comfort).

M. M. Pickthall
Lo! Those who devour the wealth of orphans wrongfully, they do but swallow fire into their bellies, and they will be exposed to burning flame.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
Those who unjustly eat up the property of orphans, eat up a Fire into their own bodies: They will soon be enduring a Blazing Fire!

Quran, Chapter 4, Verses 9-10

M. M. Pickthall
And they bid thee hasten on the evil rather than the good, when exemplary punishments have indeed occurred before them. But lo! thy Lord is rich in pardon for mankind despite their wrong, and lo! thy Lord is strong in punishment.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
They ask thee to hasten on the evil in preference to the good: Yet have come to pass, before them, (many) exemplary punishments! But verily thy Lord is full of forgiveness for mankind for their wrong-doing, and verily thy Lord is (also) strict in punishment.

Quran, Chapter 13, Verse 6

M. M. Pickthall
And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!"

M. M. Pickthall
(And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
(The command was given: ) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink."

M. M. Pickthall
And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding.

Chapter 38, Verse 41-43

M. M. Pickthall
And Job, when he cried unto his Lord, (saying): Lo! adversity afflicteth me, and Thou art Most Merciful of all who show mercy.

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
And (remember) Job, when He cried to his Lord, "Truly distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful."

M. M. Pickthall
Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers;

Yusuf Ali (Saudi Rev. 1985)
So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who serve Us.
