At least 25 people are dead and 60 others wounded after gunmen fired on a military parade in Iran on Saturday, according to Iranian state-run news outlet IRNA.

IRNA reported that civilians, including women and children, who were watching the parade in the southwestern city Ahvaz, are among the dead and injured.

Gunmen disguised as soldiers in military uniforms began shooting from behind the stands during the parade, according to the state-run news agency.

Videos on social media show soldiers in uniform and civilians dropping to the pavement and running for cover, as gunfire rings out in the background. The attack lasted about 10 minutes, the BBC's David Bamford told NPR.

State media called the attackers terrorists and reported that all four gunman were killed.

"Terrorists recruited, trained, armed & paid by a foreign regime have attacked Ahvaz," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter.

"Iran will respond swiftly and decisively in defense of Iranian lives," he wrote.

Zarif also said journalists were among the victims, but that has not been confirmed.

NPR's Peter Kenyon reported that initially, attackers were described as "takfiri gunmen" by news agencies, a term sometimes used to describe Islamic State fighters.

But in the hours after the attack, state-run media reported the Al-Ahwaz separatist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Arab separatists groups have operated in the region for years, according to The New York Times. The separatists are previously only known to have conducted oil pipeline bombings at night, The Associated Press reports.

The parade in Ahvaz, a city with a population of more than a million people, was one of many happening nationwide in honor of Sacred Defense Week, marking the 38th anniversary of Iran's eight-year war with Iraq.

The U.S. State Department said it was aware of reports of the attack, in a statement emailed to NPR. "We stand with the Iranian people against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism and express our sympathy to them at this terrible time," State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said. "The United States condemns all acts of terrorism and the loss of any innocent lives."

Iran’s President Condemns Gulf State, and U.S., After Deadly Attack

Sept. 23, 2018

TEHRAN — President Hassan Rouhani of Iran said on Sunday that a Persian Gulf country allied with the United States was behind the attack on a military parade that killed 25 people and wounded nearly 70 others.

Mr. Rouhani did not identify the country he was blaming for the attack, which was claimed by both the Islamic State and an Arab separatist group. But Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are close military allies of the United States that view Iran as a foe, particularly because of its support for militant groups across the Middle East.

“All of those small mercenary countries that we see in this region are backed by America,” Mr. Rouhani said. “It is Americans who instigate them and provide them with necessary means to commit these crimes.”

The attack on Saturday, in which militants disguised as soldiers opened fire on an annual military parade in Ahvaz, in the oil-rich southwest, was the deadliest in the country in nearly a decade. The chaos was captured live on state television.

Tehran summoned diplomats from Britain, Denmark and the Netherlands early Sunday, accusing them of having harbored “members of the terrorist group” that carried out the attack. Officials then summoned the envoy of the United Arab Emirates over what was called the “irresponsible and insulting statements” of an Emirati adviser, according to the semiofficial Iranian Students News Agency.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, writing on Twitter on Saturday, had blamed regional countries and their “US masters” for funding and arming the separatists. “Iran will respond swiftly and decisively in defense of Iranian lives,” he wrote.

The parade in Ahvaz was one of many around the country marking the anniversary of the start of Iran’s long war with Iraq in the 1980s, commemorations known as the “Sacred Defense Week.”

At least eight of the dead served in the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an elite paramilitary unit that answers to Iran’s supreme leader, according to the news agency Tasnim. The Revolutionary Guards warned on Sunday that they would seek “deadly and unforgiving revenge in the near future.”

Tensions in Iran have been growing since the Trump administration pulled out of the 2015 nuclear accord this year and began reinstating sanctions that had been eased under the deal. Washington has also urged Iran to stop what it calls “malign activities” in the region.

The American government denounced the attack on Saturday, saying it “condemns all acts of terrorism and the loss of any innocent lives.”

Initially, the authorities described the assailants as “takfiri gunmen,” a term previously used to describe militants of the Islamic State. Iran has been deeply involved in fighting the group in Iraq, and has supported President Bashar al-Assad of Syria against them and other fighters in his country’s civil war.

But Iranian officials later appeared to believe a claim of responsibility by the region’s Arab separatists, who accuse Iran’s Persian-dominated government of discriminating against the country’s ethnic-Arab minority. The Islamic State initially said the attack had targeted Mr. Rouhani, but the president was in Tehran at the time, and Islamic State militants have made a string of false claims since their major defeats in Iraq and Syria.

Iran has blamed its Mideast archrival, Saudi Arabia, for funding Arab separatists. The state news media in Saudi Arabia did not immediately report on the attack, though a Saudi-linked, Farsi-language satellite channel in Britain immediately broadcast an interview with an Ahvazi activist claiming responsibility.

In a Twitter post, Hamid Baeidinejad, Iran’s ambassador to Britain, called the channel’s decision a “heinous act,” said his country would file a complaint with the British authorities. Early Sunday, a Foreign Ministry statement similarly criticized Britain and said Tehran had “already warned” Danish and Dutch diplomats against their governments’ harboring Arab separatists.

Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen of Denmark condemned the attack in Iran and emphasized that there would be “consequences” if those responsible had any connections to Denmark.

Abdul Khaleq Abdulla justified the attack on Twitter, arguing that it was part of a plan to fight Iran on its own territory.

"An attack on a military target is not a terrorist act. Moving the battle to deep inside Iran is an option that has been publicly declared and will increase in the coming phase," Abdulla said.

The adviser to the Abu Dhabi government seemed to be referring to statements made by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, warning that Riyadh will take the fight to "inside Iran".

Officials say 29 people were killed in the attack by four gunmen on a military parade in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan province bordering Iraq.

Iran has blamed the attack on an Arab separatist movement and said it has received support from regional rival Saudi Arabia, a close ally of the UAE.

The UAE does not have an ambassador in Iran and its mission has been led by a charge d'affaires since the two countries severed diplomatic relations in 2016.

One thing that amazes me about america is how its government is quick to condemn any terrorist attack - including the spectacular ones which it carries out on its own people.

Another issue to bear in mind is that this political scientist is surrounded by controversy, and it is difficult to ascertain whether he actually made the statements of his own choice -or whether they were put on him (there are incidents where Qatari officials have claimed that their accounts were hacked and used) , or whether he is doing it on behalf of a different government, and these tweets appear aimed at creating the notion that it was indeed the uae government allied to saudi arabia, also useful to bear in mind that the uae was busy using blackwater/xe/academii to train groups in the middle east for covert and overt operations just as the people in the region were beginning to actively take notice call for Islamic rule whilst others were being prodded by america, ukgb, and israel to start a fake counter-revolution through the massive ai and paid human trolling apparatus built for social networking.

So its useful to bear in mind whilst all of this is happening that the anti-christ system is also busy at work.

UAE detains prominent political scientist Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla

On Monday, 16 January 2017, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) State Security Apparatus arrested prominent political science professor Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, detaining him for ten days before his release on Thursday, 26 January 2017. It is suspected that UAE authorities arrested him over tweets he made about free expression in the UAE. At the time of arrest, his whereabouts and the details about specific charges against him were unknown.

Considered to be one of the most prominent scholars on Gulf international relations and politics, Dr. Abdulla is currently the chair of the Arab Council for Social Science, a non-resident fellow at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, and a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a former Fulbright Scholar and visiting professor to Georgetown University, from where he also obtained his PhD. He was director of the Gulf Research Unit, Sharjah for a decade and has published numerous books and articles about the Gulf region.

UAE authorities have increasingly targeted human rights defenders and academics over the past five years. Unfair trials, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary detentions are all tactics used by UAE officials to suppress dissent. The state most recently held a hearing for another academic, economist Dr. Nasser bin Ghaith, after forcibly disappearing him for over eight months, denying him access to proper medical care while in prison, subjecting him to extended periods of solitary confinement, and restricting visits from his lawyer and family. Similar to Dr. Abdulla, UAE officials have declared several charges against Dr. bin Ghaith for comments he made on Twitter about “Arab dictators.” Authorities allege that he “committed a hostile act against a foreign state” and posted comments to “harm the reputation” of the state. The government often uses its overly-expansive 2014 counter-terrorism law and 2012 cybercrime law as the basis for justifying its attacks on human rights.

Numerous human rights organizations have expressed concern over this growing trend of restricting expression in the UAE. In this year’s World Report, Human Rights Watch highlighted the UAE government’s expansive electronic surveillance program, which it uses to target and silence critics. Freedom House has routinely labeled UAE’s press freedom as “Not Free” due to the government’s strict control over the media and internet. Although the UAE is not a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), the government accepted a number of recommendations made in its Second Cycle Universal Periodic Review in 2013 related to enhancing protections for the freedom of expression in line with international law.

The release of Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla is a positive development, but ADHRB remains concerned about his future safety, as well as that of all other academics and human rights activists in the UAE. UAE authorities should release Dr. Nasser bin Ghaith and all other prisoners of conscience and guarantee their internationally-sanctioned rights to exercise free expression and association.

Book 41, Number 6943:

Ibn Fudail reported on the authority of his father that he heard Salim b. 'Abdullah b. 'Umar as saying: O people of Iraq, how strange it is that you ask about the minor sins but commit major sins? I heard from my father 'Abdullah b. 'Umar, narrating that he heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying while pointing his hand towards the east: Verily. the turmoil would come from this side, from where appear the horns of Satan and you would strike the necks of one another; and Moses killed a person from among the people of Pharaoh unintentionally and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: "You killed a person but We relieved you from the grief and tried you with (many a) trial" (xx. 40). Ahmad b. Umar reported this hadith from Salim, but he did not make a mention of the words: "I heard".

Sahih Bukhari Volume 005, Book 059, Hadith Number 685.
Narrated By Ibn Umar : We were talking about Hajjat-ul-Wada, while the Prophet was amongst us. We did not know what Hajjat-ul-Wada' signified. The Prophet praised Allah and then mentioned Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal and described him extensively, saying, "Allah did not send any prophet but that prophet warned his nation of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal. Noah and the prophets following him warned (their people) of him. He will appear amongst you (O Muhammad's followers), and if it happens that some of his qualities may be hidden from you, but your Lord's State is clear to you and not hidden from you. The Prophet said it thrice. Verily, your Lord is not blind in one eye, while he (i.e. Ad-Dajjal) is blind in the right eye which looks like a grape bulging out (of its cluster).
No doubt,! Allah has made your blood and your properties sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this town of yours, in this month of yours."
The Prophet added: No doubt! Haven't I conveyed Allah's Message to you? " They replied, "Yes,"
The Prophet said thrice, "O Allah! Be witness for it."
The Prophet added, "Woe to you!" (or said), "May Allah be merciful to you! Do not become infidels after me (i.e. my death) by cutting the necks (throats) of one another."
