Salaam

I found this quote on a website but I’m not sure if they’re Sunni or Shi’a so I’d like to verify if it is true or false

Amirul-Mu'minin (a) said: “There are two classes of friends: friends of confidence and friends of grimace. The friends of confidence represent the hand, the wing, the family, and the wealth. Regarding your relation with the friends of confidence, you should offer your wealth and body to them, act with sincerity towards him who acts with sincerity towards them, antagonize him who antagonizes them, conceal their secrets and flaws, and publicize their nice qualities

This is from a shi'i hadith from al-Kulayni's Usul al-Kafi (and in other later shi'a hadith collections too).

Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman has reported the following on the authority of Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (‘a):In al-Basrah, a man stood up and asked Imam ‘Ali, the Commander of the Faithful (‘a) to define friends. The Imam (‘a) said:
There are two kinds of friends—friends of confidence and friends of grimace. The friends of confidence are the refuge, the wings, the family and the wealth (of their friends). If you confide in a friend, you should give your wealth and help to him. You should also befriend his friend and antagonize his enemy. You should keep his secrets and defects (in confidence) and proclaim his good conduct. You should know, O asker, that the friends of confidence are as scanty as red sulfur. Regarding the friends of grimace, you gain from them only your pleasure; therefore, you should not deprive them of your pleasure. Do not ask them for any further thing. Give them a happy mien and pleasant conversation as long as they give you their happy mien and pleasant conversation.

Or the same tradition from Muhammad Sarwar's English translation of the al-Kafi:

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalidfrom Isma'il ibn Mehran from Yunus ibn Ya’qub from abu Maryam al-Ansarifrom abu Ja’far, recipient of divine supreme covenant, who has said the following:
“Once a man in Basra stood before Amir al-Mu’minin (Ali ibn Abu Talib), recipient of divine supreme covenant, and asked, ‘O Amir al-Mu’minin, speak to us of brothers (in belief).’ The Imam said, ‘Brothers are of two kinds: Trustworthy brothers and smiling brothers. The trustworthy brothers are one’s palms, wings, the family and wealth. If they are trustworthy you may spend and work for them, be sincere to those sincere to him, and be the enemy of his enemies, conceal his secrets and faults and publicize his virtuous qualities. You (questioning person) must know that they are as rare as alchemy. On the other hand, you may enjoy the smiling brother’s association that you should not cut it off from them but do not seek anything beyond it of their conscience. Do for them as much as they do for you like a happy face and sweet expressions.’”
