Salaam

I read on a website that it is makruh to associate with sinners. Is this considered true? Are there differing views on this? What counts a person as a sinner since everyone sins? What if people who are close to you (siblings/parents) are sinners or if you’re trying to help a sinner or it is your job to associate with sinners (such as a policeman or a criminal lawyer)

Yes, helping in sin works is also a sin, and a person is counted sinner.

Quran: 9.119.

O you who believe! Keep from disobedience to Allah :swt1: in reverence for Him and piety, and keep the company of the truthful.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ اتَّقُواْ اللّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ
