Are video games such as shooting games haram?

So i've always been curious to know if video games are haram, i mean i realize most of them contain adult content and most haram stuff anyway and even fighting games such as tekken and street fighter contain a lot of adult themes, cleary disrespecting women and showing them as objects even though they fight too in the games, such as realistic physics and realistic characters, i own tekken games, but i've become doubtful so i'm avoiding them in general, though there is one game i'm curious about which is a sci fi shooting game, which is warframe, the player is a human but they are in some sort of armor which is the warframe, it contains going on missions to rescue a person and of course kill enemies who barely look human, they are humanoid more like and even the player himself has arms and legs but the head doesn't look anything human, yes it contains, female warfames as well which are almost refined and look as if they are wearing nothing, i do know video games should be avoided since they are a waste of time and too much screen time is harmful for eyes as well, so would warframe be haram?

I think it is ok as long as there is nothing that goes against Islam. Like for example, if there's writtings about Islam that has insults in it, that would be haram to play it because that would mean that you are agreed or assist the whoever made this game. But, if there is nothing that goes against Islam, that should be halal. And I got a warning for you: do not play a video game that containts nudity and porno stuff. Its also against Islamic teachings. But if you play for example: Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, League of Legends Grand theft auto(depends what does it contain in it) then things are ok. Myself I used to play Granft Theft Auto vice city, I havent seen anything that went against Islamic teachings, only that it had a picture of bikini woman that one I covered my eyes or moved away until the picture is gone. But, if you cannot handle it, just give up and try another one.

Thanks for replying, there were some things wrong with the game, the female warframes had refined bodies, almost making them look nude, otherwise the male warframes are okay, another doubt the player has weapons like a sword, gun and a hand gun in the game, it has another option of disabling the gore, otherwise it has gore in it, i was also worried since the game is violent, but the player is fighting for a good cause even though it is mostly bounty, otherwise there was nothing else that went against Allah

Well yes, i mean i took time and played them after praying salah or other important things, i'm still working on becoming a better Muslim though, also my eyes become tired in seconds since they're sensitive, so i never play games more than 15 minutes or 20 minutes, thats also why i asked this question cuz i want to avoid haram as much as possible

Well good you noticed. My advice for you is to set a time table for video games to the point where you can perform prayers on time and do other Islamic stuff and, set also an alarm in case you forget

I have heard that if something is doubtful, we must stay away from it and i've been having doubts about video games lately not to mention how we control the characters that someone else has made technically coming into the category of drawings of living things and creating cgi humans, but since warframe characters don't look completely human, here is an example of how these characters look like, they only have hands that look human and bodies, overall appearance is nothing human, the female ones were left out because most of them are inappropriate anyway, so i'm guessing that i should completely avoid these anywayAttachment 6580Attachment 6581

We know that taking picture is haram, and a fatwa has passed recently, intimating that if the technology is rightly persecuted,so as we can work with it if you are creating a game for the Islamic view than its permissible. Although its sometimes hesitate us to do but our international Ulama has passed a fatwa that we can use the technology for Islamic dawah, understanding it easily. May Allah show us the right path.

Walaikum asalam, i'm not male by the way, yes agreed, most video games nowadays contain so much haram anyway, i mean i have experience, from gta 5 to witcher even the tekken series, which also has been one of my favourite games, but now i think i should reconsider playing those games anyway they have so much perverted stuff, i thought i had free time so sometimes i played them, but in reality i could have used that time to do Islamic things and studying, i know this seems awkward but i do noy know how to read arabic thus i cannot read the Quran, but i do know how to recite and yes i always pray.

I remember a narration about archery playing, that the Prophet told to someone: "...shoot for your father was an archer" So I think that this can apply with what you play because its about fighting game, isnt it?

Actually the game also has weapons like a bow and arrow, basically archery, but i don't think it applies to video games, the narration is about real life archery, still its doubtful since there are humanoid characters in the game.
