Muhammad Bin Qasim

He was an Ummayad general who, at the age of 17, conquered large portions of the Indus (modern day Pakistan, Sindh and Punjab specifically) and spread Islam. His conquests were successful due to his good military strategy (taught to him by Hajjaj Ibn Yusef), his ability to reconcile with the defeated locals (by incorporating them into the Ummayad ruling class and army), and because the current ruler of the Indus (Raja Dahir) wasn't very popular among his mostly Buddhist subjects because he was a Hindu. He's well respected in Pakistan, and regarded as the metaphorical "first Pakistani" because he was the first Muslim to bring Islam to large portions of the Indus. Under Ummayad (and subsequent Abbasid) rule, the Indus flourished and produced many great figures such as Abu Raja As Sindhi (Muslim Indus polymath), and it is believed that Sindbad the sailor (Arabian nights mythical figure) came from the Indus.
