Assalaualaikum

When I was 15-16 my father forbid me from seeing my mother and I did next to nothing to stop this as I felt powerless and I didn’t think of doing anything about it. After that my mother began to distrust me when I began seeing her again and I had mental health problems. And I heard that if you commit a sin that violates the rights of another person even if you’re ignorant of it you are still accountable. Was I accountable then?

Wa alaykum assalam.

You were younger and did not know, InshaAllah you are not. The best thing to do is to repent just in case, and keep connections with your mother. It was a mistake you made but you now know that it is wrong.
