Assalamualaikum

I know that being shy is favoured in Islam but how shy would that be? Because with me I am anxious in social situations and I have trouble talking to people and I’d like to be better at it. Should I not want to be better at it and stay the way I am? I’m quite confused about this.

Shyness isn't a problem, lack of self confidence is problem.

Shyness is good when it does not prevent you from speaking the truth and propagating the truth of Islaam.

If you are so shy that you cannot do that, then that shyness is blameworthy.

Shyness which keeps you away from sins and pride is the shyness which is praiseworthy.
