My parents and some people told me the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) wore a necklace with verses revealed by Allah known as the jawshan al kabir and which he wore for protection in battle. is this bidah? i heard this is a shia bidah as it contains dua e kumayl, which is a shia dua. it's popular in turkey, especially in sufi circles or nurcu circles.

i have such a necklace. it's supposed to protect from evil, but one is supposed to know that protection comes only from Allah.
