Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

There is a muslim brother that I know and I'm not really close friends with him. He needed a fair amount of money and I let him borrow mine. He said he will give it back but its been a few months now. I know its not good to remind someone of their debts, but is there any way I message him in a subtle way that will make him remember he owes money. What can I write?

Jazakallahu Khairan

Don't be subtle. Be direct and honest. Ask the question. If he is struggling ask him to pay in instalments. Debt has to be paid off.
