Assalamu alaikum,

Today I just got out from the hospital and now I'm back home. Still I have problems, I finish the nasal problems, now with a new one "bleeding" continually.

And another problem I noticed is Tayamum is not available, you may look at me as if I'm a lazy person, but believe me, its not my fault that I'm in this situation. I really feel bad that I cant pray right now due some problems I have.

So, in this case, am I allowed to take a break from praying until I'm fully recovered? Back in hospital, I was hoping that on this day, the bleeding would be stopped completely and when I go home I can offer my prayers again, but you know how it said: "hope dies the last".

وعلیکم السلام ورحمتہ اللہ وبرکاتہ

Try not to miss your prayer in any case. If you cannot use water to make wudu, do tayamam. If you cannot do tayamam either (due to whatever reason), pray without wudu. But remember, this should be only and only in case of genuine inability to do wudu or tayamam.

Wa alaikum assalaam,

May Allah make your recovery quick and easy. Ameen.

If, your nose is bleeding continuously, then it's in your best interest to recover fully by taking prescribed medication, allowing for full recovery and healing by avoiding irritation in different forms, such as dust, or even movements which can impair healing or cause health risks. You have to be gentle and act with care for fully recovery.

Be sensible, you know your condition the best, so adhere to your doctor's prescriptions.

I believe you can pray lying down as this is an exceptional case. (Without wudhu as mentioned above) Perform dhikrs, duas, listen to Quran........

As soon as you are able to do so, pray normally with correct means of wudhu and in the manner prescribed. Wallahu alim.

Best wishes,

Tayyimum is always available and can never be unavailable. Wipe your hands on the walls or surface tops of something and that’ll suffice.

If you’re conscious about your bleeding then redo your wudu/tayyimum each time before salah even if your bleeding doesn’t stop. You can’t be excused from salah for any reason.

JazaakAllahu khair, this seems to be the correct view. Surely, it is the exact purpose of Tayyamum in such cases.

"This act of ritual cleansing is proven by the Quran, Sunnah (prophetic tradition) and Ijmaa' (consensus of Muslim scholars). The Quran says (what means): "…And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women [i.e., had sexual intercourse] and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving." [Quran 4:43]"

The dust from our home's walls and surface tops most likely will not be sufficient to trigger any further (serious) problems. In most instances - unless one had not been resident for a long time and upon now returning. So, OP ought to follow the procedure of Tayyamum as described (being gentle when wiping over sensitive nose area). And, thereafter proceed to pray either sitting/lying down whichever is most appropriate for his condition.

How to Perform Tayammum -

(use the walls or surface tops as mentioned instead or below it is stated a stone)

[1] Intend to lift the state of ritual impurity,
[2] say the basmala (bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem)
[3] strike the earth (or anything of the top surface of the earth like a stone], - shake off hands so as not to make face dirty/dusty
[4] wipe your face entirely,
[5] strike the earth [or its equivalent] a second time,
[6] wipe the right arm completely up to and including the elbow, and then the left arm likewise.
