Assalamu alaikum,

Yesterday I have been to a Sunni Mosque for second time in my life and someone told me that the clothes I wear it will cancel your prayer. I wonder, if I see that I cant find any long clothes, and I have short clothes, can I simply go to prayer and perform it?

wa alaikum salam
As long as your clothes covers your Awrah, for a male, navel to knees and is not too tight, revealing, you should be fine in sha Allah

covering your awrah is a must for valid salah. if you do rukuh or sujud and your knees or lower part of your back is uncovered, then yes it will cancel out your prayer.
