Wa alaikum Salam wa rahmatullah wa barakatu

This is not something that can be given a definitive answer in the sense that if you read this dhikr 7000 times while spinning in a circle you will be from the awliya. It doesn't work like that

In a general sense the criteria is to believe and have taqwa as Allah says

Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve

Those who believed and were fearing Allah

That being said it's not something you will be certain of this side of aakirah. We can strive by believing and doing righteous deeds and avoiding the haram but Allah is the one that know the unseen and knows what is in the hearts of men

May Allah increase you in khair

Are you referring to Sufi? I dont believe in Sufi anyways. they are full of innovation and possibility shirk belief.

I see, so Awliya are those who have believed in Allah and fears Him, and that they don't grief nor fear anything right?

May Allah protect us from doing bad deeds. We should focus on more righteous deeds, in sha Allah, Allah will become happy with us. as long as we have intention of pleasing Allah alone.

It was attempt at humor forgive me but some weird stuff comes out of some of those that claim to be a wali

As for the fear and grief this doesn't mean if you get scared or sad in the dunya you cant be from the awliya.

In ibn kathirs tafsir on those ayat he stated the following:

"Allah tells us that His Awliya' (friends and allies) are those who believe and have Taqwa of Allah as He defined them. Every pious, God-fearing person is a friend of Allah, therefore,

(no fear shall come upon them) from the future horrors they will face in the Hereafter.

(nor shall they grieve.) over anything left behind in this world.

Ibn Jarir recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that Allah's Messenger said:
(Among the servants of Allah there will be those whom the Prophets and the martyrs will consider fortunate). It was said: "Who are these, O Messenger of Allah, so we may love them'' He said:
(These are people who loved one another for the sake of Allah without any other interest like money or kinship. Their faces will be light, upon platforms of light. They shall have no fear (on that Day) when fear shall come upon people. Nor shall they grieve when others grieve.) Then he recited:
(Behold!! Verily, the Awliya' (friends and allies) of Allah, no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve.)"

Awliya are not angels who dont make mistakes. They are human beings
As long as you make mistakes, you feel sad and repent to Allah immediately. Asking Him for forgiveness. It does not stop you from awliya though Allah knows who is awliya. Prophets while being infallible in conveying their message also made mistakes. Adam peace be upon him disobeyed his Lord out of forgetfulness. Musa peace be upon him punched a man. Solomon peace be upon him was attracted by worldly life.

Yet they all felt sorry and repented to Allah. It is lesson for us that Allah will always accept our repentance if it is sincere. Just avoid major sins...
