Assalamu alaikom friends,

I got several taweez and want to know what is written on these. I can read arabic but can’t understand. The only thing I recognized are the names of the 4 angels. I don’t believe in taweez but it’s important for me to know what is written on it, because I have family members that hold on to these kind of things. They say they know that only Allah cc can protect us but that he said we should protect ourselves and that this is their form to protect theirselves.

i Hope you can read what’s on them

Assalam o Alaikum rahamutullahi wa barakuthu

Stay away from these things. Amulets are shirk. They don't have any power. just false belief.

4.It was narrated from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir al-Juhani that a group came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) [to swear their allegiance (bay’ah) to him]. He accepted the bay’ah of nine of them but not of one of them. They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the bay’ah of nine but not of this one.” He said, “He is wearing an amulet.” The man put his hand (in his shirt) and took it off, then he (the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) accepted his bay’ah. He said, ‘Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 16969)

‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever hangs an amulet around his neck, Allah will not fulfill his wishes. Whoever hangs a seashell as a charm, Allah will not leave him without penalty. ”
Source: Musnad Aḥmad 16951
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Suyut

Allah alone has power over all things. Nothing is independent from His command. Allah is Protecter. and that He protects whoever He wills. Divine Decree is one of the basic faith that Muslims believes in. Good and evil things comes from Allah. If Allah has not given any permission for calamity to strike, it cannot happen because Allah has not given His permission. If He wills it, then it will happen. no matter how one try hard to stay away from it, no doubt.

You don't need to translate them in order to know what the hidden meaning is written on amulets etc, which is actually a big shirk. If they're physically available - do not touch them, just throw away and forget about..

AsSalaamu alaikum,

No, don't throw them away as they have Allah's name written on them. That's about all I recognize on these charms. Yes, they may be a form of shirk, or perhaps only Quranic ayat. I'm unable to decipher the rest of the writing.

Even if they have the Name of Allah written on them, they can be burnt. Also note the following:

The way to get rid of amulets and magic when they are discovered is by undoing the knots – if there are knots – and separating the pieces, then destroying them by burning and the like...

I agree, however the charms are made of stone and metal as shown in the links of pictures she's posted.

Assalam O Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

According to Sheikh Muhammad Saalih Al-Munajjid, amulets are forbidden even if they are composed of words from the Quran. Fore more detail see the link below:
https://islamqa.info/en/answers/6035...d-of-an-amulet
In the same article, Sheikh has mentioned the following method to destroy amulets:
The way to get rid of amulets and magic when they are discovered is by undoing the knots – if there are knots – and separating the pieces, then destroying them by burning and the like, because it is narrated that Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A Jewish man used to enter upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who trusted him. He tied some knots and placed them in a well belonging to a man from among the Ansar (inhabitants of Madinah who welcomed the immigrants from Makkah). He suffered because of this for several days – or, according to the hadeeth of ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), for six months – then two angels came to visit him. One sat at his head and the other at his feet. One of them said, “Do you know what is ailing him?” He said: “So and so who used to enter upon him tied some knots for him and threw them into the well of so and so, the Ansari. He should send a man to him to take the bundle out, and he will find that the water has turned yellow.” Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to him, bringing the revelation of al-Mu’awwadhatayn, and he told him that a Jewish man had bewitched him and that the materials used were in the well of so and so. Then he sent a man – according to another isnad (chain of narration), he sent ‘Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) – who found that the water had turned yellow. He took out the bundle and brought it to him, and he told him to untie it and recite a verse of Quran. He started to recite and untie it, and every time he untied a knot, he felt a little better, until he was fully recovered.
In your case, we have charms written on metal. The best thing you can do is file these to erase any words on pieces of metal. And while doing so, keep reciting verses from Quran ( some scholars suggest to recite
Al-Mu’awwadhatayn, that is, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas). After you have filed and erased everything, may be cut metal parts into pieces with plyers or any cutting device ( this is like undoing the knots). Video below may help, see after 6:40 and onwards.

And Allah knows the best!
Ma'aSalam
