Assalam o Alaikum rahamutullahi wa barakuthu brother

Welcome to forum. May Allah bless you alot.

One of the trial that we face in this world is wealth, both wealth and poverty are test. Wealth is a blessing from Allah. But Allah has warned us about it and children. Allah gives to whoever He wills and takes whatever He wills. Zakat is paid 2.5% by Muslims who have wealth. If we don't give our thanks to Allah for blessing He gave us, it may lead to arrogance and pride which is path to Hellfire (we seek refuge with Allah from that) In Surah Kahf, Allah mentions story of two people. Each of them had gardens. one was wealthy and arrogant man, while other was poor humbled Muslim. The wealthy man was ungrateful to Allah, and out of pride, he boasted to his companion that he was better than him in wealth and children, but then Allah took away his blessings he had because of his arrogance, and he regretted, yet it doesn't benefit him.

it is permsisible to be wealthy, as long as one avoids arrogance and attachment to this world. and gives thanks to Allah. Prophet Solomon peace be upon him was wealthy, but one of his mistake was that he had too much love for this world which almost led to loss of his kingdom. He repented to Allah for this. Because our ummah is suffering, it is nessecary that we give our wealth to help people who are living in poverty to live reasonable life in sha Allah.

some companion of Prophet peace be upon him were wealthy, including Ulthman may Allah be pleased with him.

Allah knows best.

jazakAllah khair

Pickthall: The devil promiseth you destitution and enjoineth on you lewdness. But Allah promiseth you forgiveness from Himself with bounty. Allah is All-Embracing, All-knowing.

Yusuf Ali: The Evil one threatens you with poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly. Allah promiseth you His forgiveness and bounties. And Allah careth for all and He knoweth all things.
