Quran is a book that needs no introduction. Quran, within itself, contains a complete code of life. It preaches about humanity, lifestyle, mannerisms, doctrine, and law. In other words, if one reads, interprets and follows the Quran, their life will be ideal, there will be no room for error. They will achieve harmony in this world and hereafter. In this article, we’ll discover some lesser-known and incredible facts about Quran:

1. THE HOLY QURAN, THE ABSOLUTE GUIDANCE TO MANKIND:

Quran brought the absolute and final message of Allah almighty to the humankind. Since the Quran’s revelation, there has been no word from God and there will be none. Because the Quran itself claims that this will be the last set of commandments from God and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) Muhammad will be the last messenger of God.There have been so many contradictions regarding the Quran and its message but many people have proved with reasoning its authenticity, one such person is Dr. Maurice Bucaille, a famous French physician. He says“How could a man, from being illiterate, become the most important author in terms of literary merits in the whole of Arabic literature? How could he the pronounce facts of a scientific nature that no other human being could have possibly known at that time, and all this, without once making the slightest error in his pronouncement on the subject?”

2. QURAN AND CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE:

Quran has beguiled the whole world with its scientific accuracies and has given a solid answer to the atheists and the non-believers. The Quran holds knowledge about every aspect concerning humans. It talks about the universe’s creation.

3. QURAN AND SCIENCE:

Quran made prescient statements about scientific phenomena that were later confirmed by scientific research. For instance, the Quran talks about the solar system and the big bang.Quran tells us how we humans and other forms of life came into existence from a clot of blood. Streeter (1941) developed the first system of staging which has now been replaced by a more accurate system proposed by O’Rahilly (1972). However, the Quran was the first source to mention this, this all is very astonishing and strengthens ones’ faith in God and His message. To quote Quranic verse directly: “We created mankind from a mixed drop (nutfah-amshaj).” (76:2)This verse refers to the sharing of both parents in the formation of an embryo and the origin of life.“And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?” (21:30)This above-mentioned verse also unravels the mystery of the origin of life. As science has proved that the human body consists of water by 80%. Hence without water life would have been impossible.None of the myths on the origins of life that abounded at the time of the Quran are present in the text. Furthermore, the fact that all life originated from water would not have been a very easy thing to convince people of 1400 years ago, especially in the desert!

4. QURAN AND EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE:

The expansion of the universe is the most imposing discovery of modern science. Today it is a firmly established concept and the only debate centers around the way this is taking place.“The heaven, We have built it with power. Verily, We are expanding it.” (51:47) ‘We are expanding it’ is the translation of the plural present particle musi’una of the verb ausa’a meaning “to make wider, more spacious, to extend, to expand.”
And Quran hinted at this concept 1400 years ago. This not only puzzles the physicists but makes them question their beliefs to their very core.

5. QURAN AND THE PAST:

Quran has at many places given guidance to its followers through the examples of the past and to make its followers learn from the transgressions of the people who came before them. One such instance is the Pharaoh of Egypt. God made him a symbol for others to learn from and not to repeat his mistakes. Quran made this definite prediction of the preservation of the body of the Pharaoh of Moses’ time.It says in the Quran:
“This day We shall save you in your body so that you may be a sign for those that come after you.”And to the bewilderment of the whole world, the body of the pharaoh was discovered in the tomb of Amenhotep II in 1898. It was mummified and intact even after all this time.Quran has cited lost civilizations who were erased due to their debauched deeds and used as a strict caution to its followers to not stray from the righteous path. Once such a civilization is “IRAM”. Though its name has been mentioned in the Quran, there was no scientific proof of its existence. In the ruins of the Palace Library, they found the largest collection of cuneiform clay tablets ever discovered – around 15,000. Written in the oldest Semitic language yet identified, the tablets reveal that Ebla rivaled Egypt and Mesopotamia as a major power of the ancient world. They found in there a record of all the cities that Ebla used to do business with including one Iram!Ebla is thought to be 4500 years old and such a remarkable discovery not only gives hope to the Muslims but gives a shut-up call to the non-believers.

6. QURAN AND ITS MAJESTIC POETRY:

At the time when the Quran was being revealed many people accused Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) of making it up and being a fanatic. Many people persecuted the Prophet (PBUH) by saying he was no more than a mad poet. And our Prophet (PBUH) was not a learned man, he was from an illiterate family and couldn’t have produced the Quran out of thin air. When people were challenging Holy Prophet over the legitimacy of The Holy Quran, Allah revealed the following verses to clear all doubt:“And if you are in doubt about what We have revealed (the Qur’an) to Our worshipper (Muhammad PBUH), then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides God if you are truthful. And if you do not do it, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones. It has been prepared for disbelievers. And give good news (O Muhammad) to those who believe and do good deeds, that for them are Gardens (Paradise) in which rivers flow… “
Qur’an, 2:23-25

7. GOD, HIMSELF AS THE PROTECTOR OF QURAN:

Quran is the only Holy book that God, Himself has taken the responsibility to protect. Allah will ensure there will not be any changes introduced in it till the end of time. While all other Holy books such as the Bible and Psalms have all gone through drastic changes.Allah says in the Quran:“Indeed, We alone have revealed this Glorious Admonition (the Qur’an), and surely We alone will guard it.”(15:9)And to this day, we see only one Quran all over the world, it has withstood the test of time, many people tried to change its content and message but as Allah is its sole protector they all failed.

8. HAROOF-E- MUQATTA-A-AATS:

Quran contains many such words that have no meaning. These words are found at the beginning of Surahs and have no say in their meaning. Muqatta-a-aat is an Arabic word which means “abbreviated” or “Shortened”. Many Islamic scholars have tried to decipher their meaning but to no avail.Allah, Himself will reveal the meaning of these words on the day of Judgement. Furthermore, many scholars hypothesize that Allah put in these words to show us that He used ordinary words that we use in our day to day conversations to compose such a beautiful masterpiece, but we humans are unable to use the same words to produce anything remotely resembling the Majestic Quran.
