Assalamo alaykom guys. I am from Norway and want to pursue a career in accountancy. I will start studying economics and management this summer in sha Allaah, and thought accountancy is the safest route if I am only going for bachelor and not a masters degree. However, I am afraid of angering Allaah, and do not want to be involved in riba. This thing confuses me, because I have heard so many different opinions. Some people say that an accountant does not participate in riba deals directly but somewhat indirectly. Are there any halal ways to work as an accountant in the West?
